We love you Benjamin. ☺
Benjamin Grosvenor is an amazing pianist, but I can’t help but notice how he’s become more socially tense and awkward over the years. In a documentary when he was 12 and at a mainstream school, he was more socially relaxed and easygoing. I’ve witnessed the same thing happen to people I’ve known personally who socially isolated themselves for long periods of time. He obviously works so hard and has achieved so much at a young age, I think he needs a break, maybe a sabbatical so he can experience life outside the practice room a little more?
Wonderful room.
He looks like Sviatoslaw Richter!
If I could choose to be one of the great pianists I would choose to be Grosvenor!
I wonder if there's an interview of him talking about the time he played the Grieg concerto.. hmm..
Not that I'm aware of at the time of writing this, but if I come across one, I'll let you know :)
I wonder about that too. The audience even clapped between 1. and 2. movement, which is rare. I have listened to that concert several times.
