Hey beautiful soul! Shaman Drums and Artworks are available through my website www.carolinnobles.com - I also do commissions. How to paint your drum tutorial page: www.carolinnobles.com/paintyourdrum
Thank you so much for your sharing🙏🏼 You made me brave and encouraged to personalise my own drum which is still in stage of wish. I only know once I have it I need to paint it myself. By this video you did something very valuable for many people❤️
I use a brand named Golden Hi Flo acrylic paints on my Remo drums. They act like watercolor paints. I apply them with the drum laid flat. Just a different, beautiful result. These paints are so ethereal they wont dull the sound of your drum.
Marvelous work you do. I love the remo frame drums, been a musician most of my life, playing with friends etc and now I want to push it forward, maybe sell and personalize drums like you do and you've inspired me greatly. Thank you! ♡♡♡
Awesome video Carolin, and stunning artwork. . . I have 2 Remo frame drums and a Daf on the way. . . Got my artwork and logo. Time to get the brushes out and give those skins a colorful finish. . . Thanks so much for the inspiration. . . Blessings. . .

Dear siSTAR...you are a beautiful and gentle soul bringing so much love into this world. Bless you! I, too, am an artist, and other things... ♥️To the point, when I trace my design, using carbon paper as well, I use a RED pencil. This shows where I've traced, or not. Blessed be.
That's a cool idea! I trace them many times, not just once as I redo some designs for clients, but for people who just make one design, that is an amazing solution!
Many thanks to you Carolin! I’m about to hold my first drum journey and as it’s planned to be held outsider in late november here in Sweden i need to get me a drum with synthetic skin. As i wondered how to paint it i came across your superb tutorial. I’l send you a picture and a support when i’m done. Sending many thanks and love to you🙏 Johan

Thank you so much lovely sister. I will create my drum this week i am so excited!!! i will show it on FB i follow you there. I hope it will work out but you explained it really well so i think it will be fine!
Oh thank you so much. That was so inspiring 💛 I've been wanting to paint drums for a while but never had the courage to do so...I think I will try it now!
Thank you so much this was awesome. This is all new to me and I just joined a group and want to buy a drum to learn to play. I am excited now to personalize it for me.
Many Thanks, I'm awaiting my purchased Shamanic Drum and Oak wood drumstick (with Labradorite insertion) being sent from Ukraine... once it is here and I can play it (and send many prayers and thoughts to it's makers and their Country in these crazy times at present) I'm also hoping then I shall know if it is intended to be painted or not. Your tutorial was AWESOME, thanks for taking the time to post it, please know it is indeed well received and very much appreciated by at least one person here in New Zealand
I like this video :) it really showcases the amount of effort and time you put into making these amazing designs as well as giving really helpful tips too :)
Thank you, my son and I just painted his snare drum and it's gone a bit flaky, I wondered whether to do layers and then seal but didn't know which sealant would be fine and flexible so as not to effect the sound 🙂
Thank you for sharing. I've been following you on FB and love your art. I am wondering, what spray are you using and why is it necessary. I am reluctant to paint my drum as I can play it even in the rain and sometimes the raindrops do the music. What happens when the drum is painted with acrylic paint and it's raining?
The varnish is needed so the paint doesn't come off after playing it. It also protects the colors. A few drops of rain wouldn't be a problem, if it is varnished. I would still not let it soak in the rain, because of the frame. I use Molotow UV varnish.
Hi Caro! Thank you for this video. My drum should be arriving soon. Two questions: 1. Do you think using a stencil would work - with the acrylic pens? or maybe need a stencil brush and the acrylic paint? 2. Do you think the spray on varnish makes the drum stiffer and affects the tone? Thank you!

Amazing job! ☺️ I love your videos. I just bought my remo drum and Im ready to paint it but I’m just wondering if it’s necessary to spray it after my painting? What if I will not spray and leave the paint as it is?
Does this process also work for the black remo Bahia Buffalo Drum (E1-1316-BE). It seems to have a different finish than the white remo buffalo drum. Thank you!

Thank you so much for making this video and for sharing your art with us. I am curious about how you paint the black bahia remo drum. You mentioned that you sand it first? Do you have any tips on how you do that or if you recommend different paints? I would appreciate any recommendations as I am considering this for the black drum I just bought. Much gratitude
After using the acrylic markers on the beater, why avoid the unpainted part in the acrylic spray for protection?... I would think that it would keep the wooden part clean... so why not using the matte varnish on it?
Hi, just stumbled across this, my friend needs to seal his synthetic drum that has been painted for him, would the spray you used here work to seal his drum and still be used for ceremonies.
Hi Shea, I bought the paper in a local store in New Zealand, loose papers. So I do not have a link. Here in Germany I buy it on Ebay, but you would need to look in your own country. It is called graphite or transfer paper.

Will the acrylic paint or markers wear off over time and use, or do they withstand it if you use a varnish/finishing spray?
So far with varnish on top, nothing has come off, but it might depend on your intensity and playing, and maybe over many years, the varnish would fade. But you can respray then. Nothing is forever. So yes I do recommend varnish, without, it would not keep.
So smart
