A timeless classic this is Silver. I think it's one of the best Atari 2600 games ever made and glad it made it into your channel to be seen bro. Love it for sure. 86) Anthony..
+Charlie Cat Yeah, this is one of my favorite games for the Atari 2600. I also like Howard Scott Warshaw's other game: E.T. I know most people hate it, but that's mostly because most people don't know how to play (I have done a playthrough of it here on TH-cam; I gotta look in my harddrive and see if I screencaptured the annotation version before TH-cam got rid of them).
For those out there that didn't get a chance to unpack this game back in the day and both feel the searing frustrations and...the soaring triumphs well...you just HAD to be there. The medallion...how did we ever figure out the medallion would just finally pop into our inventory if we waited on the correct basket long enough? The map room...waiting on the sun? Then forgetting to switch back to the key...ugh. The grenade...how many times did we blow ourselves up? How did we ever figure out it was used to blow a hole to access the dungeon and advance the game? When you watch this walkthrough, you're probably out there thinking...What a dumb game, it takes 6 minutes to beat it? No...no, it took 6 MONTHS to beat it. 6 months of sleep overs at your house with your buddies. Or you at your buddies houses. Fueled by caffeine and junk food, staying up all night only to learn one teensy wrinkle. This was one of the earliest thinking console games that really started to show people what gaming might be. Space Invaders, Asteroids and Missile Command were all fine games in their own right but, games like "Raiders" really tested your cognitive abilities. Oh...and the parachute! My God...undercutting the branch enough to make the cave but, not so much you got hung up and or killed. What a game...you just had to be there.
Glad that you like Howard Scott Warshaw's works bro. Yeah, everybody dislikes the E.T. game. But I try to look at the positives of a title just like LJN's games were for the NES. I would like to get Warshaw's movie, "Once upon a time at Atari". I heard it's really good. Anthony..
I did find out myself that one of the baskets gives you the medallion/Staff of Ra. But how you are supposed to find out about the Yar is a mystery to me. The manual said that "there were strange objects seen" in the Mesa Field. To get the max score you may not lose lives, find Yar and find the secret exit from the Dungeon (among some other trivial things). See: www.digitpress.com/eastereggs/26raidersofthelostark.htm. This is a good place to read all about the game too: homepage.isomedia.com/~tonyc/2600/faq/INDYSOLV.HTM. You really need the manual with this game because it's half the fun reading about things that you will discover in the game. Like the raving lunatic in the Black Market, who'll kill you if you try to pass him.
Give the Chai to the Black Sheikh and you'll be transported to the Black Market. You need two pots of gold coins to pass the Raving Lunatic, though. Instead of blowing a hole in the wall with the Hand Grenade you can use the Amulet to pass through the wall.
Omfg ! I used to finish that game but it was so unceremonious I was never sure that I had completed it 😂 nice to get ckosure now that i barely most of the steps to get through the game lol i remember having to wait for the sun to show you the location ! That was a cool part
I think i may have permanently damaged my cart as i can not get past the start. It's a long story lol but i think i took the cart out while it was turned on. Kids aye lol good vid 👍
+Emerald Game Cave Have you tried starting using the 2nd player port? This game requires 2 controllers: The 1st player port is for item management; the 2nd player port to move and play. Howard Scott Warshaw did this so you won't forget this require 2 controllers to play.
Wasn't there a swampy area that you could fall into which had a greenish screen and where you moved slowly? Was there any reason to ever go down there?
Hello again! It seems that my joystick (VR park working on android) doesn't have such button. None of its buttons performs the operation. Is there any keyboard command that replaces that button for inventory controller function? Thanks in advance!
I absolutely loved this game as a kid, but I could never beat it!! I never realized how bad the graphics were!
Thanks for this throwback.
You're welcome.
I finally beat this demon game a few minutes ago, your walk-through made it happen

I remember playing this game when I was 12.

Very informative video. I wouldn't have understood it otherwise.

You put this beautifully. It was maddening. But it's one of my greatest achievements on the 2600. This and the perfect Pitfall 1cc No Miss No Death.

One of the two games that I never managed to finish, too young at the time and no manual. Now I understand why...
Merci.
It’s been a long time but I remember finishing the game without even knowing about the medallion
This game was the bane of my existence. Heard it required both controllers to beat? Never got close. I despised it.
Yars revenge was probably the best game I’ve ever played though.

I remember the first time I solved this. I was so proud of myself.

This is why I never tried, I didn't have the manual to see what the items all were.
+Jason Vectrex
Yeah, this game you definitely need the manual to know what's going on.
@Karl M Oh, I will upload more video game videos, or are you specifically talking about just Atari 2600 games?
@Karl M I definitely will.

Thanks for info. I can not remember about controller 2 but i will check it out :)

This is the most non-sensical thing I have ever seen! How could anybody have figured this hot mess out?
OMG 😮 thank you!!!!
Wasn't there a swampy area that you could fall into which had a greenish screen and where you moved slowly? Was there any reason to ever go down there?
Yes, it's in the game; and no there is no reason to go down there.
I needed this ear-rape sound in my headphones thanks.
Cool run
@@petrsauer8240 Thanks.
That's the sound of Atari for ya.
muy bien.
What button do you press to drop the gold onto te flute?
Use the left controller (Inventory controller) button when you are standing over it.

How on earth did you figure all this out? I played as a kid and was clueless, even after reading the manual.
I forget myself.
but what about trying not to fall into the valley of poison when digging the dirt?
