I like how in the thumbnail, Luigi has Lightning powers/Electrokinesis as a reference to Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. I never played the game though, but I've known about this through an episode of DEATH BATTLE by Screwattack focusing around a fight between Luigi and Tails.

The bit with the forward smash not killing had to do with the windbox from Dedede’s Neutral Special. The forward smash hit, and should have killed, but they windbox moved Luigi and made him instantly do a jab before Dedede took knockback, thereby cancelling the forward smash’s knockback
