Hello marina. My wife, and I have been enjoying your videos for years now. On the t, v, my son just told me I can leave you a comment on my phone. God bless you for all of your videos. You are part of the reason why we moved to Mexico 2 years ago. We really appreciate what you doing. God bless you.
These videos you make are excellent. The information is good and practical, the pace of delivery is good, and your speaking is articulate and pleasant. Cheers!
Please make sure wherever you go that you check out their medical services to make sure they are top notch. That's the MOST important thing you can do and yet the LEAST thing people think about. Get well soon!
@Mexico Relocation Guide....LOVED, LOVED, LOVED THIS!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for adding the text of the areas/names you mention in the video!!! THIS is SO HELPFUL to SEE how these places are spelled. PLEASE CONTINUE TO DO THIS IN VIDEO'S GOING FORWARD. IT is very helpful. Now I can start leaning the pronunciation of things
Glad you liked it. All my videos have the local pronunciation of towns and cities in Mexico. Except for Mexico- I say it like an American would 😊 Check them out TH-cam.com/mexicorelocationguide
Thanks for the great video. Another great town in Mexico to check out. I like what you say about walking. Since living for 2 years in Zona Romantica, Puerto Vallarta and now near Centro in Chapala, I have lost 30 pounds just by walking everywhere and eating a better diet.
We live north of Merida and loved this video. You covered a lot in this video and it was well done. We tell people all the time, most people work hard year round to have one or two weeks in a place like this. We feel thankful and lucky to be here. Enjoyed the video.
After watching this, I'm fearing my American standards are too high for here. I'm so disappointed in myself because we've been discussing traveling there and considering whether it was feasible to semi-retire. But everything seems so old. 😢
I live in Progreso and this video is recent and very good. We very rarely use our air conditioning, but September of this year was horribly hot and humid. Your estimate for water is way too high. I don't know anyone who pays more than 100 pesos every two months and many pay nothing as they have only wells and no city water at all. Your estimate of 400 pesos from Merida to Progreso is correct if you take a taxi. The Autoprogreso bus is much more economical at 23 pesos and is comfortable and air conditioned. Good job on this video - Anne
Thank you for all the excellent, in depth effort that you put into your videos. Our interest was more on the pacific side but there’s something about Progreso that I’m really in love with. Cheers!
one of my favorite restaurants is off the boardwalk in Progresso. I honestly cannot remember the name - but it is all decked out in Pink and you really can't miss it. It's more high-end and the service is excellent and the food is delicious. Yum!
@@MexicoRelocationGuide I don't know where you grew up. But I grew up in Monterrey and I drank tap water my whole life and the same happens with most of the inhabitants in the city

Marina, thanks for this video. Have you or can you do a video on Coastal places that are close to medical facilities that support Veterans/VA healthcare - Tricare etc?
17,000 pesos is over £700 pound sterling or about $1,000 Dollars the currency will only change by a few pounds or dollrs. They are ridiculous it's the same price in UK. prices.
Rents are stupid high, and buying is getting like 10/12% higher year over year. Mexican real estate is getting expensive. Still some good deals relative to Canadian prices but maybe check out other latin American destinations for better deals.
Hello Mariana, just finding your video here about Progresso and comments about real estate agents. I’ve been in Puerto Escondido now for almost a week and have asked several times on the website for assistance finding a real estate agent or someone that could help me with long-term rental here in Puerto Escondido with no luck. You have mentioned that there is a list on the site with real estate agents and their locations I can’t find it I’m in Puerto Escondido for about another week and would really like to connect with a couple of agents that could help me find long-term rentals in the near future
Any recommendations on Spanish language schools ? I was thinking studying Spanish in difficult areas may give a better feel for a place then just traveling through.. also would give a base to work from, to explore areas around Mexico

With how the money needed in the bank AND what they want you to make a year it's getting impossible unless you're "well off". We could live great there with just the money from selling the house / land and my disability, BUT every year it gets more expensive to just get there, even if my wife and I wouldn't be a drag on the economy there... It's sad, it was both of our dreams, just not rich enough to live cheaper IF that makes sense..? 😕
hello. I really enjoyed your video. we are planning to move to Merida next year. and we bought some land in Conkal. But it‘s not attached to the sewage or water system. Do you or anyone have any tips how anyone is going to build a house without running water/sewage system?
Hola- we have local contacts in the Merida area that can help facilitate setting up utilities on your property when you start building. if you use an architect, they can also sometimes help with that. if you’d like our directory of recommended contacts, check out our Complete Mexico Relocation Guide- mexicorelocationguide.com/guide/
We currently are living here in Progreso and have not noticed any sargassum on the beaches. Being that it is on the Gulf, we think that greatly reduces the potential for that to occur.
It did for at least a couple of years before covid, but only occasionally and not very much. Not sure about after that. For the most part it is a non issue, and there are Canadians and Americans who winter there and swim in the ocean daily.
Hi! There isn't a single city in Mexico that I would consider not pet friendly :) All cities are pet friendly. It all depends on the type of house you rent and whether you need a backyard or not. That might be the challenge in some of the larger cities like CDMX Guadalajara, Merida or Queretaro
@geoffspeed Obviously you've missed the point, not many expats have $3500 coming in. And why does the government require to have this much when others living there do not make this much. Enjoy your stay there.
We wouldn't recommend moving to Mexico without a source of income. Finding jobs locally (although not impossible) is very limiting and the incomes in Mexico are about 1/5th of what they are north of the border.
Hola! because they change on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. The exchange rates are all over the place these days. So I prefer to give the audience a look into MXN because they can calculate these amounts on their side with their home currency in mind :)
not sure who they are or what their cost of living is. It can be comparable if they are spending a lot. but Guarantee if they are spending a lot, they are living way better than in Montreal.

Water is not potable across Mexico. There are some neighborhoods and developments that do it for their residents but not by the municipal government
