Wonder Woman is not a bloodthirsty character. She never was outside of adoptions that don't take place in the main continuity. She was created to be a character on the same level of strength as Superman. The difference between the two is that she isn't invulnerable, they have a differing power set, and that they both use their strength differently. She also holds back most of the time and is probably the best at it compared to other heroes due to her thousands of years of training. When she is fighting, its common to see her meet her enemies at their level and not just going all out on them.
People always say this, and it shows they don't understand Wonder Woman's character. She isn't constantly bloodlusted; she only kills when necessary, and if she's fighting someone she considers not just an ally but a FRIEND, she's going to hold back.
