Hey, I do have a question since the Mexican American war popped up and it got me thinking about your AU and I want to learn more so… what’s the relationship between Mexico and America in your main au?
Okay basically I won’t go to in to detail since I’ll prob make a video about it in the future BUT- they’re close friends, almost like siblings. They’ve been friends since they were colonies since they were neighbors. I’m not too knowledgeable about the Mexican-American war buttttttt Mexico still wishes she won the war but regardless she is very close with America. You could say it just caused- tension.. between them that resolved later :D
@ ohhh okay if you want I can tell you the history of it! So it started with Texas There was the Mexican empire. But thay we’re struggling financially, so since America was expanding, they rented Texas to Americans, but they brought slaves along with them so they were saying that they cannot bring slaves and then Texas declared independence and then America offered to annex Texas and yeah then [I’m not completely clear on this part, so take this with a grain of salt] the border wasn’t completely agreed-upon, so it was heavily debated at the time, and so America really wanted more land, but they needed an excuse to declare war so they stationed American troops near the debated border Mexico shot, claiming that it’s their land then America declared war and annexed from Texas all the way to California and that’s basically the gist of it. And in my Au [I ship them] they were best friends until the war and then Mexico started getting distant and later America tried to rekindle their friendship [in real life America Try to reestablished diplomatic, relationships after Mexico, relinquished relationship after the war] and thay are still really close another fact I ship them is because America was actually the first person to recognize Mexican as a country after independence, as well as both there mothers being native [Mexico, the Aztec empire, which is her mother Native America which is the mother of America and the fact that Mexico is America’s number one trading partner and Spain helped in the American revolution. If you didn’t know you can look that one up though]if you want to know anything Mexican history or my au feel free to ask I love study Mexican history!!!😊❤️❤️
