    When I was reading Jung's essay, I had to stop on the part explaining Thinking/Feeling. He explained that they are both functions of intellect. That Feeling is not emotion but an intellectual process arriving at a value judgment.
    I think because Jung read a lot of philosophy he is well-acquainted with Hume's "is-ought" problem. According to Hume, there is a very sharp dichotomy between propositions that express a value judgment (ought sentences) and those that state/indicate/describe a fact about the world (is-sentences). The philosophical problem consists in defining the exact relation between these statements.
    If Jung had studied philosophy, as he claims, he must be familiar with this dichotomy and indeed the same terminology of "value judgment" is used in the context of the philosophical problem.
    (Incidentally, in the 1957 interview he made, he contrasted himself with Freud on the point that Freud didn't know philosophy but that he did and, in particular, he was steeped in Kant. Moreover, Kant's famous "categorical imperative" is a form of synthesis couched in the terms of Hume's is-ought problem because is-sentences have the property of being categorical whereas imperatives are ought-sentences. So if Jung was really steeped in Kant's philosophy, he would have understood this critical dichotomy.)
    So I imagine a Feeling personality is someone who would have more ought-propositions than is-propositions dominating his analytical thought processes.

    I super love Carl Jung, discovered him during the pandemic. Considering studying analytical psychology and pursuing it as a profession (mejo suntok sa buwan atm but would appreciate your advice on how to navigate this field as a career.) Honestly surprised to find your videos on a subject matter uncommon sa Pinas! Thank you and many more videos to come.🙏🏼

    I perceived myself as an intuitive person.
    What it feels like in contrast between intuitive and feelings is:
    Intuitive: it scares me cause I know it's going to happen or it's like your alice in twilight.
    For me Feeling: is you're weighing your judgement, there's a sense of doubt. Can be changed, depending on the mood.
    Ayon lang po. 😊

    From my understanding to Carl Jung 4 functions of attitude is that we all develop them four, we all have our own extroversion and introversion. We don't have to be a proofreader to able to say that our extroverted sensing is being activated. Facts are presented to us we use those facts and beings are all subjective we use them to interpret sensing, intuition, thinking and so on.

    i've heard about Jung through Jordan Peterson. His work resonated so much about the things that i have been contemplating about, and he definitely helped me arrange my thoughts about the seemingly "mystical aspects'' of our selves, and he made it more concrete rather than abstract. im continuously delving deeper into his work, thank you po for taking the time to dedicate a whole lecture about him.

    Thank you so much for this lecture. My prof doesn't focused on Carl Jung's theory and I'm disappointed since I really like his theory a lot and I use it to assess people's personality. As for your question why it's important to have a healthy four function, I think that we have dominant and inferior function.
    Dominant functions are those function that we usually use all the time and inferior functions are those that we struggle to use.
    For example INTP personality have 4 function which is Ti, Ne, Si, Fe.
    Ti- introverted thinking; they tend to assess things using their own logical interpretation on things. Good at logical thinking and may based situations using what makes sense to them. Dominant function leading
    Fe- extroverted feeling, struggle to social interaction and also not so good to identify what their peers feel. Inferior function.
    INTPs are good at analyzing things using their own thinking but they are bad on assessing what people truly felt. That's why they struggle to empathize to others.
    However, they can still use their inferior function if it influence the dominant function.

    Napapaisip rin po ako why baby cries pag sinisilang sila like how they know how to cry? Sino nagturo sakanila and pano nila nalalaman paano dumede like sino rin nag turo sakanila and kung nature natun sa human or naka program na sa utak ng tao pagkapanganak palang so ung theory ni jung is make sense? Correct me if im wrong sir hahah

    • @JPBuduan
      @JPBuduan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      you're on the right track naman although the breast feeding part, I guess is more of an instinct rather than an archetype since mas malapit sya sa biological aspect ng bata. ang archetype is more on psychological part lang like relationships, roles, personality and the like. I hope clear pagkakaexplain ko haha

    thankyou again sir. dominant pala introverted feeling sakin kaya napaka impulsive ko :< hahahahaha. sir dominant ba introverted thinking sa mga close minded daw na tao? haahha curious lang po

    • @JPBuduan
      @JPBuduan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think its not that they are close minded, more like super pinagiisipan lang tlga ng mga introverted thinking lahat ng opinions nila to the point na kaya nilang idefend ung mga arguments nila. Nagmumuka silang close minded sa ibang tao kasi nga most of the time sure ang mga introverted thinkers sa mga opinions nila. Pero with good argumentation and presentation of evidence, introverted thinkers can still change their minds haha
