    Etsy is a great place to get supplies. They even have signed rings! Thanks for the tips and tricks. Just starting to look into this medium and learning all I can before I get my first set.

      It is! Sad thing is, when buying on Aliexpress, you can always find the things Etsy suppliers re-sell :p But yes, there are some great sellers too. And I'm glad it helped!

    I use a shimmery gold eyeshadow that is hideous on my eyes but looks great on the stamp image. Keep it dedicated just for your wax though.
    I mean you know that.
    I’ve even used one palate as watercolor. Food dye is fun too. Oh, and strong tea makes a great watercolor. Use what you have is what I’m trying to say.

      That's lovely! I tried that too, but I sadly threw out all my "old" shimmery eyeshadows so I have to use the good ones and be careful with those. Ohhhh what good ideas you have! I used coffee to stain papers the other week, they smell lovely :D

      @@ThePaperLetterBlog I agree, my ABH pallet will not be used in that way!

    I wipe the spoon clean with a wet wipe while the left over wax is still a bit warm.

    To clean off wax of the spoons I boil water and put it in a jar or boil it in a pot I dont care about and stick the spoon in it the wax melts away perfectly

    Thanks for sharing the great tips! To clean my spoons I’ll pour the wax onto the paper, push in the stamp and then quickly wipe out the spoon with paper towels while the wax is still melted.

    I do the same thing with my extra wax from the spoon. Keep it in a tiny plastic condiment cup. Comes in handy! Especially when you start to run out of wax. Lol.

      Haha, you thanked me for always replying and then I'm a week late... I went to my parents, and this week I've been helping with painting the cat cafe! I really hope you found some good suppliers, and you're totally welcome!

    Instead of spending so much money on the wax beads, I bought wine bottle sealing wax. It works MUCH better and I melt it in my wax warmer, use a measuring teaspoon, and I can get over 500 seals per one one pound bag of wine bottle sealing wax/pellets. I bought mine off eBay. Just type wine bottle sealing wax in. There are several out there and they are all supple wax too.

    Which would you say is better value for money the wax sticks or the wax beads?

    • @ThePaperLetterBlog
      @ThePaperLetterBlog  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ooofff I honestly can't say. There's a lot of price and quality difference between beads and sticks. I prefer beads, as they're easier to use.

    When using the wax warmer- I see that it smokes is that normal?! If so how long does it do it for? And how do you keep the smaller ones balanced? Thanks for the video

    • @ThePaperLetterBlog
      @ThePaperLetterBlog  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes it smokes because there's wax on the bottom of the spoon! But it doesn't happen if I use the bigger spoon. The smaller ones can only be balanced with a lot of patience, hahaha

    Love this video found it so interesting. I love candles you asked about getting wax of the spoon’s you could try putting them in a bowl of boiling hot water and keep them in the bowl for about half an hour or more and the excess wax should come of. I do this with candle’s in a jar as sometimes the candle jars are so nice and I don’t want to through them away. Hope this helps 😀👍xx

      Yayyy I'm super glad to hear that!! And that's actually a great tip, I've done the same with those little jars as well Thanks for watching!

    Thank you for sharing your tips! I don't have any wax seal :( but it something that I would like to have so this is very useful for when I do.

    • @ThePaperLetterBlog
      @ThePaperLetterBlog  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem! Not everyone likes them (whyyyy) but if you find any for a good deal, you should give it a go! It's fun to see all different ideas you can try 😄

    • @nameissturdy1390
      @nameissturdy1390 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just got mine. But before I had it, I used a long red candle we had and just dripped some onto dried flowers and then a couple of drops here and there. If you have an interesting old coin or something metal with an imprint and you don’t care if you ruin it (just in case) it may be worth a try.
      I looked for deals and bought one piece one place, and so on. It took awhile to get everything together and it’s not all fancy by any means but should work just fine for what I do.

    Do you know of the cheap wax from chine survives the postal system process?

    • @ThePaperLetterBlog
      @ThePaperLetterBlog  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends! When you make them seperately on wax paper and then glue them on the envelope, they're more likely to come off. But most of the time when I make them directly on the envelope they survive, although sometimes small pieces are sliced off for example ;P

    I´ve been wanting to see this video for a really long time (last time watching your video I was going to ask for this kind of tutorial! ) This was super helpful to me not knowing almost anything about wax sealing but maybe little too long video for me. I´d have cut the clips shorter but on the other hand I understand you maybe wanted to do everything on real time :)

    • @ThePaperLetterBlog

      Thanks for the feedback Emily! The talking and filming was in one video, so I couldn't have cut the video without losing some of the speech :)

    I just heat up the spoon once I've gotten as much as I can out and melt the remaining wax and use a papertowel to wipe it out, if you scrunch it up a little and double it up its honestly not that hot

    Ik heb de wax van de hema en ook de zegel. Hier staat een cadeautje op, maar ik wil er nog meer.
    Ik heb een vraag; heb jij al eens gestempeld met een ijzeren knoop, bv van een spijkerbroek. Ik heb dit ergens gezien.
