  • Qatar is set to receive a $50 billion economic boost thanks to the 2022 World cup. Why was the country awarded hosting rights despite its horrific human rights record? Why do sporting bodies put money over rights? Palki Sharma tells you.

When money is in the balance, morale is thrown out of the window. Of all human flaws, complacency is the worst : supporting despicable plans/individuals in order to get benefits.

@@raghz100 Like their extremely biased and twisted version of what happened in Nagaland with that night time reenactment when it happened in the day saying the truck didn't stop when it actually did and the army had "no option but to fire on the mob". There are many other things, related to India, which WION shows a large amount of bias in regards to. I found it funny when a bunch of people suddenly realized that Palki isn't the unbiased angel they thought she was after watching the "China enters the civil war in Ethiopia". Don't get me wrong, she's a great information source, for someone like me, who's news doesn't even give this sort of stuff a second thought but, just like any other news source, she and WION are biased when it comes to their interests and certain topics.

Why are democratic countries allowing Qatar to host the soccer world cup given his POOR human rights and other violations. FIFA officials are ALL unfit to hold these positions and it also shows the CORRUPTION. The athletes are also colluding with ALL the human rights abuse and violations. Is money become more important than human lives and sufferings? What happened to compassion for the victims and sufferers of human rights abuse? Are these peoples lives mean nothing as long as I can kick a soccer ball or drive a racing car?

I'm a football fan & i love it when the world cup is on, but I'm not excited about the next world cup in Qatar as it stinks of corruption left right centre, Qatar never deserved it in the first place even for logical reasons such as A Size of the country, B the extreme temperature at the time of the year when the world cup is normally on, but they moved it November/December, C Qatar doesn't have much of a football history worth talking about & so on

Palki why don’t you raise the same issues that are rampant in India; north korea and qatar are not countries you should be pointing fingers at when you have the same human rights violations in India; are you willfully blind to the goings on in India: please shine some light on the transgressions in India; we will worry about north korea, Qatar and Pakistan when we have solved our issues.

@@ObingNNgpk i didn't have any intention to mention india.but as I always see she criticize every single country except india? So india maybe a better place for fifa 2022 world cup as a host according to miss Palki sharma.
