Thanks for that. There are a few tricky bits in this kata aren't there? Keep practising and you'll be the best in the class soon!

I love your form and how you place your arms and legs for blocks and kicks. Can't tell you how many times I've had to show someone the importance of opening up your hip, angling the foot, like you do with the Mae Geri at 16:26, but not going to far, cause it's an important setup for counter if needed.

Thanks. One of the big mistakes I see with my students is that they pretty much step through the kick and lack any control during the kick. Any good opponent could counter them, like you mentioned. That's probably a whole other video though.

@@ZenShin Yep, like I show other people with me the strength differences if your leg is caught. At 45, you have the power to pull your leg back while striking. If your leg is turned past 45 or at 90. You have no strength at all and can be pulled down easily. It's amazing how such small details can make a huge impact.

Glad to see your teaching correct form on the blocking strike at 4:05. Do you push your students arms showing the the difference between the structure and strengths of the way you have it VS them having it closer?

Yes we do. I remember being a child learning this stuff, but never really understood it until I was older.

@@ZenShin Good Sensei's show you the correct form. Great Sensei's show, and explain, why the forms are important.
      You are a Great Sensei.

Thanks for the video, would you recommend an academy in London?

Unfortunately we don't have any links with any Karate clubs in London. Best thing to do is to try a couple different dojo in your area to see which one you prefer.
