Everything she said was absolutely true. 5 years ago, my provider told me I was pre-diabetic. I changed my eating habits to whole organic foods, more water, less meat, exercise probiotics, prayer, I wore no panties, and I cleaned and dried myself well after every urination and shower. I would also make my own wipes with water, tea tre oil and apple cider vinegar. Oh and fabric softners and detergents can be irritating to the V. Always see your provider and never make a concoction without consulting with a professional. I'm here because I reverted back to my old ways and needed a reminder to never give up the fight to STAY healthy.

Pre-period perimenopause is also a reason for reoccurring yeast infections. I am currently eating greek yoghurt 3 times daily for my probiotic intake. It usually works with dousing but due to diabetes and being perimenopausal at the same time, it's been quite aggressive. The yeast infection subsides when my period does. I am diabetic. I have noticed flare ups shortly after eating small amounts of sugar. I have stopped smoking which is also helping. My husband eats a lot of bread. Which has crept back into the house recently. A long with my elderly neighbours baking with love. I have been eating a lot more red meat, along with more carbs instead of more greens. Which will cause PH levels to be unbalanced. Keto is the ideal diet.

So BV (bacterial vaginosis) is basically a disruption of the pH balance of the vagina. Its not actually an infection, per se, although it can come from one for sure. Some of the symptoms are a burning sensation, itching, foul smelling discharge, and pain during intercourse.
Here are my thoughts. Burning means too acidic. To cure BV once and for all, you must find your unique causes. What in your lifestyle is making you and/or your vagina acidic?
    Some common ones:
    Smoking (#1)
    Diabetes or pre diabetes
Too acidic diet (don't go too alkaline though, we need acidity and there are problems with a too alkaline vagina too!). Check urine pH to see if your diet is too acidic or alkaline. It should be right in the middle. Urine pH is only for diet though, yall!
    Too much exercise
    Not enough exercise
I think there's a theme here. The actual cure for BV and most illnesses and diseases is quite simple and has the same theme throughout every single disease process. Balance.
Are you vegan? Thats too alkaline. Are you a heavy meat eater or carnivore? Thats too acidic.
Are you a smoker? Too acidic.
    Too much sugar? Acidic.
    Not enough sugar? Alkaline.
The buddhist monks had it right, life is about balance. Find out what you're doing too much or too little of and correct it.

Dude thats too alkaline. Sure, BV is acidic, but there are issues with too alkaline. You probably were doing something else that was too acidic in your life and the alkalinity of a plant based diet got you back in balance. This kind of diet will lead to more issues down the road though. Careful. You must find what you are doing that is too acidic. Stress is acidic, by the way. Check how your whole body feels. Too acidic and you feel burning, heat. Too alkaline and you feel ungrounded, light, and cold.

Isn’t it so sad that recurrent bv is so common and even with how medically advanced we are, no one has found something that consistently treats it indefinitely? I had recurrent bv that I swear got worse with all the antibiotics they gave me. I finally saw a naturopathic who healed me from the inside out and I was clear for a whole year! Then I became pregnant and now it’s back..

    • @user-kc7mu4jp4p

Hope you have been able to get over it again. The absolute first thing you can do is cut out sugars and carbs, cold turkey, if possible, but if you are sugar or carb addicted, cut down as much as possible (because simple carbs like white rice, wheat products like bread, pasta, fruits, etc break down into sugars as soon as you eat them). Here is where you will have to use your will power to keep off these things and chocolates and cookies and cakes, which are comfort food for most of us. But the harder you clamp down on these, the faster you will rid yourself of BV. It can be kept at bay also by taking probiotics (good quality, active cultures from reputed pharmacies) and diluted organic apple cider vinegar (Bragg is a good brand that can be purchased online, if not in the store). Do these things consistently on a daily basis, and you will definitely see a difference. Do not rely on store-bought yogurt for probiotics as many brands are full of starch powder, which is a very bad carb. if you get BV under control with these, depending on severity of our infection, even if you choose to try an antibiotic recommended by your doctor, the better the chance that it will work to conclusion. But if you can eliminate it by eliminating the sugars floating around in your bloodstream, God help, you may not even need the antibiotics, and your good dietary habits will be enough to give you all the protection you need from your own strong antibodies.
PS: No matter how strong the odour that may occur, whether it be BV or even bad breath, avoid soaps and toothpastes like the plague. They only strip your skin of good bacteria and make everything worse. Yup, cut out the sugars and use salt to brush your teeth. Once the sugars are out, salt may be the only thing you might need, if not just water, for cleaning your mouth, because the bad bacteria are gone with the sugars.

@Marisa Bond, you're not alone, your experience is almost identical to mine. I have systemic candidiasis that was diagnosed by a holistic doctor, but I can't afford all the antifungals, very expensive. Like you, I'm jealous of others who can eat whatever they want, it sucks having this.

@@bluevictory1010 I’m sorry you’re going through the same thing as me. I went to a holistic doctor too, my blood tests came back high with Candida overgrowth as well. She has me on some of her stuff but like I said what helps keep it under control and to where I can have a yummy sweet starbucks drink or ice cream is my infrared sauna, I bought it off Amazon for $200, well worth the investment and I can always tell when the Candida is high/BV when I start having gut problems, burping too much, side pains and I feel slightly more wet down there in the lady parts, idk what it does but my infrared heals something in my gut and down there but like I said I have to stick to it just about every day or every other day. What I really need to do is give up the yummy carbs/sugar but so hard.

I had 4 yeast infections in about three months and nothing worked for but then all of a sudden the pain went away (the thrush pain) and a new pain came, more of an inflamed kind of pain. I got tested for thrush at the hospital and it came back negative and also got tested again at the gynaecologist and it came back negative. She said I could have a skin condition and am waiting for a prescription from her to get some cream for it. She believes it isn’t a bacterial infection but more of a inflammatory infection.

Quick question 🙋🏾‍♀️. I’ve only experienced Bv when I am pregnant. When I gave birth to my first son it went away darn near over night. I was taking probiotics, antibiotics, and a vaginal cream my Doctor gave me. ( not all at the same time) now early in my 2nd pregnancy and it came back as soon I learned about being pregnant. It’s very frustrating because none of those things I’ve listed worked. Whether they give me a 7 days pill schedule, or 14 day. Or use this cream until you feel no more. Or eat this. Don’t eat that. It’s not going away. I’ve worn pads to catch the discharge so that I get a clean break. Doesn’t work. I’ve soaked in baking soda and apple cider vinegar for the itch. Doesn’t work. I need actual solutions. And cannot find any 😔😔😔

This will be tmi but i just had my last child and it was rough all the way around. I'm only 33 but my body has just not been right since. I've never had bv but after being in nicu with my baby for two weeks, i go in for the smell and the normal check up. That's the only symptom i had. This woman said i had trich and bv. I'm like how.....i told my child's father and he gets checked and is clean. Took the Meds, went away for a week tops and now here we are again. This is DEVASTATING. Has anybody used the honey pot boric acid and herbs? Said not to use while nursing. I nurse my babies for two years and i REFUSE to keep this up for that long.

    Vaginal gel
    Change my diet

Sorry no one replied to you yet. Semen inside the vagina can sometimes throw off the balance of the vagina causing yeast infections. Try to minimize the times you finish inside. Also females can transmit yeast infections to males, then you two would enter a cycle of reinfecting each other. Make sure you two feel comfortable to have conversations around this embarrassing topic. Make sure she feels comfortable telling you about her vagina health and make sure you feel comfortable talking to you about your penile health.

This is so annoying, just rabbiting on without any notes etc. When a person is suffering and in distress with an infection the last thing they want to do is to sit through all this. It would be much more beneficial if you present your views as a PowerPoint presentation instead of sitting there looking pretty. Nobody cares, but they do care about what you have got to say!
