    I love the Sorrowful mysteries. The Holy Spirit decided to bring me to the Church just before Lent. Before then I had never been exposed to Catholicism so I had to learn everything like a child. Praying the Sorrowful mysteries (almost) everyday was how I learned the mechanics of praying the Rosary and how I learned about the power of the Rosary.

    St. Faustina's Diary is absolutely amazing.....I do not understand why people would think this chaplet is less valuable than the rosary? I really do not think Mary would agree...everything Mary does is to point to Jesus anyway....Divine Mercy devotion is very powerful !

    Devotions are a great way for a lay person to live a fuller, richer catholic life. Especially when you're older...and the doors to consecrated life are all closed. I was already in my forties when I felt God's call to holiness. I attend Mass regularly, goes without saying, and devotions are practical, "simple" things one can do.
    It doesn't really matter why the Lord picked me at such age, the fact is He did and He has a plan for me.
    Thank you.

      What does a devotion to St Therese include? My parish church is named after her, so I would love to learn more!

    • @Sergiosa559-
      @Sergiosa559- 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your parish must be really nice then. She is the patron saint of our diocese. My devotion to St Therese for me is like a brother sister relationship. It includes learning about her life. So I started listening to audiobooks of her and of her diary. There’s a book called Mornings with St Therese that you can read every day there’s another book called 33 Days of Merciful Love. Having her image in my altar and I’m bringing her flowers. She loves flowers. I’m a horrible brother I don’t bring her flowers maybe I should start. When I want to take a prayer intention to Our Lord I pray a novena to her so she could intercede for me so praying novenas to her. Basically my devotion to her is that I have her in my heart. If you start a devotion to her she will start a devotion to you.

    I've taken to praying the rosary daily, & usually twice. I really enjoy the luminous mysteries, as they are particularly relevant to the issues of society today. Fr. Donald Calloway gives a great talk about the luminous mysteries that were championed by St. John Paul ll. I do really enjoy praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. I find the story of St Ignatius to be very inspiring. Great post ! The Lord be with you !

    You are way too mature for your age. I love it. Do you know any places where I can find traditional catholic women like you (pro life, believes in gods vision for marriage that it is between a man and woman, against contraceptive etc.). Also what are your thoughts on interacail dating if they are both catholic but from different cultures or nationalities. In my case I am an Indian catholic (syro-Malabar) that is an Australian citizen and have been since I was 10. Thank you and please keep making more content.

    Totally random question: What would you suggest kids do if they can't get to confession because they can't drive themselves? I have done acts of contrition on my own, and have asked God for forgiveness, telling him that I will confess asap. Is this okay? What should I do?

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but for the First Friday devotion to be effective, doesn't one have to not have any attachment to sin? Was never sure what that meant... Does this mean to even still be tempted to committ a sin that used to be habitual?

    • @r.w.1944

      You are confusing devotions. You are talking about indulgences. First Friday is a different devotion. First Friday requires confession and receiving Holy Communion in a state of grace.

      The devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus was also not officially approved until the 19th century. If the Divine Mercy devotion was approved by the clergy then that means it's not dangerous. The Divine Mercy chaplet is a beautiful prayer that helped tons of people to grow on the faith and love of Jesus (including me). So if you are skeptic about it, try praying the chaplet daily, and you will see how it changes your heart❤️

    catholicism 'created' their own 'bible' version - complete with added apocrypha and missing verses.
    God's Word came from the Byzantine Text, Textus Receptus, originating in Antioch (Acts 11:26) not alexandria.
    all one has to do is a serious read of Scripture to see how catholicism isn't even Christianity.
    let me know when you're ready to discuss!
    ps - i wrote here because the banning has already started, unfortunately.

  • @tony1685

      Without the Catholic Church you wouldn't have the Bible. Try again.

    • @tony1685
      @tony1685 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheReligiousHippie *False Dichotomy Logical Fallacy* - catholicism produces their lesser 'bible' with missing verses and added apocrypha -- they *HATE* the KJV, from the Byzantine text, Textus Receptus, originating from Antioch - see Acts 11:26
      and therefore follow the problematic alexandrian version - which is full of contradictions.
      all one has to do is simply ask a couple Bible questions which no catholic can answer with integrity and accuracy.
      example:
      does God's church still uphold Truth - as 1 Tim 3:15 shows they do?
      do Christians still show love to Christ - as He directs in John 14:15?
      but you're welcome to try to prove me wrong before you shadow ban me.
      we know the 1st isn't possible and the 2nd is inevitable.
      integrity and catholicism just doesn't go together.
      Truth invites investigation! ~ catholicism runs from It.
      as you'll prove here.
