    I feel like they are good for now but I would rather just flaks go a damage boost them inventing a whole new turret.

    Hmmmm... Coilguns used to be the meta but not so much anymore, I'll try them out instead of the cannons I was using before I discovered the coilgun. Thanks!

      The coilgun turret is the best turret for PVE (player versus environment. You will expect to do extremely well against NPCs but not so much against players (due to most preferring shield builds after the ships were reworked + how subsystems currently operate), cannons atm is the best turret against structures and Destroyers and above though the cannon's bullet travel is one of the slowest.

      @@BlockieBoy_and_Trevor You should consider a destroyer with blasters, they do extremely well at larger distances. I personally use a hybrid swift bolt with blasters that let me snipe things at 3.9k with unerring accuracy. I live at the edge of unsecure, It's incredibly versatile for clearing out all anomalies with a good defense configuration that lets you only have to log out twice for large pirate dens and massively clearing megacomplexes at steady pace if you want their loot.
      Large Pirate dens are incredibly stupid to be honest. All of those reinforcements is incredibly hard, its a massive fucking waste of time I hope they halve the stupendous amount of reinforcements that barely gives any loot so we can do it honestly.
      I don't know why energy weapons are slow but they are supposed to travel at the speed of light since they do not weigh.

      @@keithou4389 large pirate dens need to slow their reinforcement they spam more vehicles than the soviets in ww2

      Depends on what you're using it for, either you're pursuing piracy, contested defence, PVE, PVP, etc.

      @@YourMom-cd3uz I would suggest blasters or coilguns as your primary turrets, repeaters as PTDs are fine. I would suggest Heavy Bullet, Warp Amplifier, and Parallel Circuits as your modules, for subsystems go for a healing option like Medium Hull Repairer or Medium Shield Repairer or maybe both.

      OC takes too long too recharge added with the fact it only increases the damage output by 0.5x or less for 10 seconds. It's only good in PVP if you wanna finish off a player with low health ready to warp out, PVE on the other hand has fleets of ships spawning in who are easy to aim at and does not have the ability to warp (excluding NPC faction ships). PVE is all about tank tank and tank while PVP is all about shoot dodge and running away.

      They're designed to deal extra damage to hulls whilst less damage to shields, I believe they are kinetic.

    In my opinion I think shrapnel is crap since it becomes basically useless when your target is 1k studs away

      fr, though you need to be agile and speedy if you want to use it properly, id say its decent for its playstyle though its not practical in the current meta (if you catch my drift)

      kanavni ships are the best for shrapnel because they are usually the fastest of their class

      @@turtle_mike I can't think of a weapons mod that affects the spread of the shrapnel, I'm assuming it has always been coded this way

      I would recommend Blasters, they're very simple, easy to use, aim and control. Blasters are good turrets new players can use to get themselves familiar with the game's warship controls.

      @@Epic_Saveee Here's my take. Shrapnels are very unideal for drones, drones are known to be very agile and speedy, their hitboxes aren't as large as human npcs. Shrapnels are more ideal for close quarter combat between warships with high hull pools, while drones have a more balanced shield-hull ratio compared to pirate npcs.
