There is information that is wrong: neither hybe nor source have registered the name GFriend (in Korean it is not even viable as it is a common word). It even appeared in the media how KIPO rejected the attempts from source music for registering GFriend even with the variant "Gfriends" lol they had their 17 attempts rejected and the reason "GFriend is a well-known brand for being the name of "Six members, so it could cause harm to them if their group name is misused." That's what the document says. The thing is that they have not tried (for now) to register the group name. That they came back as VIVIZ and not as GFriend wasn't because of that, but because VIVIZ are only three and they have their own color and charm, GFriend is when all six of them are together (their words, not mine)
its pronounced more like bi-bi-ji btw. v and b are very similar in korean just like z and ji. viviz is just the stylization for concept and international purposes. (which just means: it looks cool.) it comes from their names. eunBI (eunha), eunBI (sinb) and yewom (umJI)
