    Very informative, thank you!
    I have a few questions…
    1. Is opting for preferred club worth it?
    2. Can you go to the À La Carte restaurants as many times during your stay?

You can go to the a la carte restaurants as often as you'd like. No reservations required. The Preferred Club is hard to say if it's worth it or not. Some people would agree that it is and others say it isn't. We loved the preferred pool and restaurant for lunch. Food was amazing and service is top notch. You do get a la carte breakfast with preferred and a few other little things as well. We went opening week so our rate was considerably lower than standard rate as well, so opting for preferred wasn't much of a stretch.

The reef is far from shore and doesn't break the waves like at Secrets Akumal. This results in the water being a bit rougher and stirs up a lot of sand. Nothing to really see just off the beach.

Is there a coffee shop or cafe on site?

Yes, I realized after I made the video that I forgot to show it. It's Coco Cafe just like at other Secrets. Fantastic treats and coffee. It's at the front of the resort to the right.

Great video!!! We're going in April and we were really considering switching resorts because of all of the negative reviews. You've changed our minds! We went to Secrets Akumal last year and loved it!! There and here we are doing the preferred tropical view king room. Are the room very similar at Tulum and do they have 24 hr room service? I'm a snorkeler too kind of bummed that Tulum doesn't have that but the resort does look amazing!

Do you prefer this site or Aukumal? I’m trying to decide between the two.

That's hard to say, they are both fantastic. Tulum Beach Club was so much fun but the Akumal beach is better for snorkeling. I'd give a slight edge to Tulum for food but Akumal is a bit more polished right now. Still some opening kinks for Tulum. I think you'll be happy at either one. You just have to decide what's more important for you.

    This video was very informative!
We are planning a honeymoon and are highly considering this resort. I have a couple of questions though...
    1. Did you fly into Cancun airport? If so, how did you get to the resort? Is there a shuttle you take?
    2. For reservations at the restaurants, how far in advance do you need to make them?
    Thanks for your time! :)

Airport transfer was included in our package from Canada. If you're coming in from the US, there are plenty of transfer companies you can book through. Depending on when you're planning for, the Tulum airport might be open for you. I believe they are taking international flights in the new year.
As for reservations, they aren't required. Just show up, and they will seat you when they can. Always a bar close by to have a drink if it's a bit of a wait. We were there opening week at less than half capacity, so I can't say for sure how it will be in the future.
We definitely want to visit again in the future. Have a great time.

My friends and I are going to stay here in December! Do you remember the name of the company that booked excursions on site?

I didn't take any excursions personally but dealt with the people in that area for return transportation to airport. They have an Amstar rep on-site.
