We live in polk county , the local picnic park we go to is a small museum about the train routes. We even take advantage of the sam houston university park and all the events they have regarding texas history. Living in this part of texas there is so much living history.
I got lucky and found a gallopade Georgia history book at my local goodwill. I'm happy to add parts of history i wish i knew but honestly libraries and state parks teach us the most.
I love this! We are in NE TX near DFW. Our kids are only 2 & 5 right now so we are still a bit off a way from getting into the nitty gritty of TX history but I will totally check out those resources & see what I can modify to fit our kids just for fun (not for credit). We did get a Houston science museum annual pass this year & will likely get it again in the future. We really need to take a trip again soon.
DFW area has amazing family fun sites! We love the children's garden at the Botanic garden. We've done memberships there before. What's a 4-5 hour drive for fun?😅😅😅
@@MakingEverydayMagic We don't but I am tempted to get one next year. We did go to the Perot this past summer & loved it. We had arboretum passes which I loved but the kids were kind of bored with it. So, we may wait a year before doing that one again. I really want to get a Dallas aquarium one as well but they are so expensive & don't have many if any at all reciprocities. We do have a Dallas zoo pass & now that it is getting cooler, we need to start going more often. :D
@Kristy.Reads.2024 Dallas zoo has reciprocity too!! Scope out the AZA list and the ASTC list. Both are amazing!! Children's museums and science museums.
I don't think we have a specific history. What I did is I got a Harcourt social Studies text for our state second hand and we're going through that this year. Along with some local history recourses even if it's a president stood here and gave a speech kind of thing they're fun to visit.
