Such a refreshing change to see some joined up thinking on today's railway, a new use for MK4's and giving 67's something to do aswel! I wonder how long it will last? I bet the long suffering passengers on this route are loving it.
In 2 weeks time I’ll be onboard those tfw premier service trains, I got to say that I’m already forward to it as I’ve had quite good experiences on the last 3 I’ve been on.
This is a spectacular video. I love the cinematography and how its broken up by little shots of the station and the area, it almost feels like we've had a tour of the place! The trains and the semaphores are an absolute delight, well done!
No 90s. DVTs (Driver Van Trailer), a driving cab, guards area and luggage storage. They eliminate the need for loco run rounds or loco swaps at termini.
Manchester now have a higher-quality train to Cardiff than it does to London, Newcastle, Bournemouth or Glasgow.... The Mk 4 coaches and the driving van trailer have been painted in TfW colours so they presumably are leased long-term and will run the service for several years. Do the buffet- restaurant cars in each set that was filmed actually serve passengers? Any film of the Cardiff to Holyhead dining car train, a k a 'Von Ieuan's Express' ? (So named by railwaymen after Ieuan Wyn Jones, Deputy First Minister of Wales 2007-11 (and from Anglesey) who introduced it and found the money to subsidise it.)
Great video !

Those Mk4s do look great in black. 🖤
Yep
Think there maybe only one set in black though
Good to see a true intercity service between these two major cities.
Yep, filmed so much 2 car, overloaded rubbish over the last 10 years on the route👌

Glad you enjoyed it!, got another one soon from a few years ago when there were more semaphores
@@thehogfat Absolutely looking forward to it!
A 67 with a 90 on the tail.... damn!
