Durga Maa, also known as the Divine Mother, is one of the most revered deities in Hinduism. She represents the combined energies of all gods and is often seen as a fierce yet loving protector. Durga is typically depicted with ten arms, each holding a powerful weapon, symbolizing her ability to combat the forces of evil. She rides a lion or tiger, symbolizing courage and her mastery over nature. Durga Maa’s most famous myth tells of her victory over the demon Mahishasura, whom she defeated after a fierce battle that lasted nine days. This victory is celebrated during the festival of Navratri, where devotees worship her nine forms, each embodying different virtues and powers. Durga represents the strength, resilience, and compassion of a mother who will go to any lengths to protect her children. Her many arms and weapons signify the qualities needed to confront life's challenges with wisdom and strength. Devotees turn to Durga Maa for blessings, guidance, and protection, especially in difficult times. She reminds people of the potential within themselves to overcome their own inner and outer demons with courage and love.
