- It was summer of 2020. The summer of covid lockdowns and I was getting cabin fever. Somehow I convinced two of my lady friends to join me on an expedition to the Gates of the Arctic National Park. 3 weeks later begins the tale of how a blonde, brunette and a redhead bushwhacked their way through the Arrigetch Peaks.
There was far more backcountry bushwhacking than climbing, epic bush plane flights with Sig (our intrepid pilot who used to fly in the Congo), grizzly encounters, off-tune singing, lugging of a 12lb tent, chossy ridge climbs, sketchy rappels and oh so much more. I'm fortunate that both AJ Jardine and Daphne De Jong were game for this adventure. - กีฬา

Awesome, just applied for a Skurka trip! I usually do solo, but seemed an occasion to accept an assist. Someday I need to literally learn the ropes and (also literally?} take it up a notch!

I'm so jealous😛 If I had to live my life over again I wish I had cool & like-minded friends that would do this with me when I was younger. I did the Denali deal many moons ago with a great friend but this year I finally cornered a few buddies and going to hit ANWR & the Brooks range later this year. Happy New Year to you guys and enjoy these memories.

Was the rock too wet to climb? Or was video of the climbing not documented?
How much was the flight? Was planning going solo and really want to this myself!
So we took a flight to Bettles and then from there chartered the Beaver. I remember that it was $900/person for the drop off and pick up. We were a group of 3. The flights are pricy, but if you’re going solos and have a slightly more flexible schedule, they can probably work with you to find another group with a similar itinerary or dates. Or at least batch you for one of the directions!
