I found the stair problem mostly on HK Island. I had a pretty decent stroller-laden experience moving around in Kowloon and the New Territories due to the flatter terrain. I found Taipei to be flatter but the accessible facilities such as wheelchair ramps to be less thorough than HK.
We stayed at The Jervois. To be fair, Central Hong Kong is the older part so if you stay off Hong Kong Island it is a bit more stroller friendly. Oh if you want to see a tour of the Jervois hotel room it’s in this video: th-cam.com/video/WtvrLXYr5oU/w-d-xo.html 🙂
I found this topic really helpful! We are also Australian (Sydney) travelling to gong Kong next year during Easter with a then 2 year old. Just wondering if you had any recommendations on kid friendly attractions that you may of visited? Thanks :)
For a 2 year old I think Ocean Park would be nice. They probably won’t be able to take all the rides but there’s still a lot of sea creatures and shows they’ll be able to enjoy. There’s also a Disneyland but IMO at 2 years old they’re probably more interested in seeing animals than Mickey Mouse 😂. I don’t really have any other recommendations because when we went Carter was younger than 2. Hope you enjoy your time in HK!
lol, we literally just got back from a 2 week stay in Hong Kong (Mar 28--Apr 10) and couldn't agree with you more about 2 things: 1. HK is NOT stroller or wheelchair friendly which was our situation since we were traveling with our elderly father; and 2. Chi Cha San Chen in the new K11 mall is worth visiting. We found the Boba Milk Tea delicious! The less sweet version was sweet enough for us. Although we were able to walk right up to order, we had to wait 15 to 20 minutes for our order. There must have been many people before us, either in person or ordering online if that is available. I admire you for traveling with your very cute baby, especially to a place as crowded and challenging as HK!
Thank you for your comment! You're very brave to travel with your father and a wheelchair! At least with a baby and stroller we can fold it and hand carry the baby. It has been quite tiring but we are enjoying the experience, both the ups and downs XD.
Are you bringing the stroller to the tram ?
Yes we did bring it to the tram, we folded it when boarding.
Thank you so much for covering this topic. We have a 4 year old and planning to go in December. Love your family.

Awesome tip! We did spend most of our time on HK island because our hotel was there. I'll definitely look for a hotel on the Kowloon side next time!
@@wonkfam HK Island is more visually impressive. Give and take hahah
Thanks for sharing this video and I’m thinking twice about getting a stroller. May I know which hotel did you stayed?

How old is your baby. ?
In this video he would've been about 9-10 months old 😄
