Mark, thanks to you I have improved from a 29 handicap to an 18. Still plenty of room for improvement but I’m happy about the progress given it’s only been 9 months of infrequent golf. Thank you!!! Edit: and today I shot 15 over!!!!
I both love you and I hate you. I love you for trying to make me a better golfer and hate you for letting me know how much I don’t understand the game of golf. Ultimately you do inspire me to keep learning. I’ll never stop watching your videos.
Love this guys. I spent ages trying to get the traditional stance correct, I lost the feel of the game. Now ive gone back to different stances for different shots, I get more satisfaction from my game.
brilliant! I've never before heard someone break down the effect of posture on club path. When I first started playing golf, I had a much more bent over posture and I routinely hit draws. When I changed my clubs, I had to stand more upright with my arms very straight to get the lie angle correct on the club and I started hitting a fade all the time.....now I understand why. Yet another reason to get fitted!
I have been plagued by over draw/hook recently. Funny I filmed myself yesterday and thought my posture has become a bit round. I will try straightening my posture. Thanks Mark.
What an eye opener, thanks Mark. I've struggled for years with pushes / overdraws (however hard I tried to 'swing left') and upon checking, I am more hunched than I thought. Extended my posture and an instant straightening out of the flight. Typical Driver result was 18 Degree launch and big push or hook... stand up taller (plus a bit less spine tilt), and and I'm down to 14 Degrees, less draw and 3mph more clubhead speed (as measured on SkyTrak)! Wish I could get a coaching session with you some time.... I've just moved into Torbay area!
Posture was the only thing I worked on in my last lesson. Helped me from being horrendous to actually pretty decent. After ter completely lost with lazy posture and not even noticing.
Great video. For me: Cut Stance= Pull the grip away from target and in close to my body. Open shoulders. Hit through the heel Draw stance= Push the grip away from my body and toward the target. Closed shoulders. Hit through the toe.
That last guy you described, I've played with that guy and a few of your other ones too. I was probably in there as well. Great things to take to the range during the winter.
Classic swing at the end - great messages guys and very easy to slip into the bum out posture routine but has all the negative aspects you highlight - love the ideas of posture changes to help shape shots - again great thoughts to try on the range!
I keep my usual posture when trying to really over shape a ball left or right and just change my feet and club face at address. Next time on the range I'll see how changing my posture works. Thanks boys.
Never been able to cut more than a baby cut but can easily hook round obstacles when needed so will definitely be trying this upright and higher hands ;)
This leads into club fitting surely? Flat lie angle will generally lead to a lower hand, more slouching and more turning over? Will your posture tend to fit around the set up of your clubs? I'm a 12hcp, with a 6 month old baby, so not much chance to play, but when I do I feel more tired and generally rounded (I'm 6'3") due to pure fatigue. Lots of left misses with my irons. Definitely going to play around with my posture when I get a chance...
Not watched yet, but I agree many different postures are used by many and many to great effect...my understanding of poor posture isnt that it looks wrong compared to the books etc, its when your own moves away from your own best posture for you and your swing.. Many swings are built around ones own posture so if that changes then your deliveries will be different and quality of shots effected....
Wow...the Batcave has had an extension ! Where do you keep the Batwing? Room for Mince to bunk for the night now! Great physiological stuff Parfield! 🤓😂👌👍👍🔔
Great vid Guys! I get what your saying because when I crush a straight drive, I am very comfortable. And when I just can't get my feet right Who knows where it goes. But in all honesty I have no Idea why I can't get comfortable every time. Thanks!
@@bernardpayne2882 im a subscriber and ive just watched him again ..definitely looks like hes taking a poop....and you cant tell me thats a good looking swing...its fantastically functional but only very slightly more traditional than Jim Furyk But im not saying he not a great communicator
Then there was Jack Nicklaus who stood hunched over the ball like he had osteoporosis and hit that power fade. Someone should have corrected his posture!
Posture is also so variable on day to day, and we often get too caught up in finding the perfect way that should fit each time. AM/PM tee times, off flights, long drives to course, cold/hot weather, sleep levels night before, hungover will all affect. Would you think that this is one of the reasons why you hit balls if possible before you start? To feel what your posture will be like on that day, and work your shot shape around your swing in front of you, and not search for the text book 'perfect' everytime...
That’s a player and his wife were playing on Sunday afternoon at Vale Royal , start of the round 🧔this the end of the 5th hole 👴🏻 I play off 20+ made me look like tiger woods 🏌🏽
That is a big tune coming in at the end.....🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼 Posture perv 🤣🤣🤣.. I play so inconsistently these day I’d do anything to get back my consistent 15/20 yard “ slice “ 👍🏼 always good content Mr cross 🤘🏼
The design of your own body dictates posture of a person. Poor hip / shoulder mobility or range will affect it. As will the level of flexibility of a person. I struggle with posture and spine angle due to g,a,a, injuries. Play your own game 💪
It's just a jump to the left And then a step to the right With your hands on your hips You bring your knees in tight But it's the pelvic thrust That really drives you insane......
Changing posture to control shape? Height of your hands in a bunker to control direction? Manipulating things to change strike instead of searching for a perfect swing, perfect contact and perfect posture? What is this wizardry?
So I should ignore all the lessons I've just had then ? God theres no wonder people are put off having lessons all you pro's say different things very disheartening , is it just take the money and there goes another sucker 🙁

I don't appreciate you making fun of me at the end there.
Never thought of this my posture quite upright and struggle with a draw. My best mate quite hunched can't hit a fade. Must give this a try 👍
Never thought of how the posture affects the path. Great lesson Mark and Dan.
It affects the lie of the club also, not just path.
Great video nice to have more info on little adjustments and how they can make differences in the golf swing

Outstanding session. Very insightful. Keep em coming !
I've recently started to try this or use it as an understanding of why shots go the way they do. Great info.
im looking forward to trying this im currently 8 to 9 in to out with my stock shot and want to be more neutral
one of your best sir.
Great info. Happy Thanksgiving.
amazing stuff guys.. keep it coming, loving it
LOL Posture my shot shape!!! Great stuff.
Hitting toe up stood higher surely difficult.... 🤔 Good discussion 👍

Great vid and insights boys. How would you describe rory’s posture?
Perfect golf posture: holding the trophy!

Wow! Light bulb video! Can’t wait to get to the range, testing to do for sure.
Great video will definitely be giving this a go on the range and I'm now thinking as a long time fader am I to upright very interesting
What an outstanding vid.
Thank you.
So enlightening.
It’s match ups innit?
I nearly wet myself with that last shot 😂😂😂
Mark - have you reviewed Oake Manor Golf Club near Taunton? Wasn't sure about how or where to ask....
Really helpful, thanks guys

I played rounds with guys that have that last swing. Took 10 hours to get 18 holes in!
Balance had more to do with my shots. I have to constantly think about staying over the shot.
Never seen this before. Interesting
That last posture is classic Saun Clements 😂😂😂 he always looks like hes taking a dump just before he hits the ball
I can't have that; Shawn Clement is a legend.

I think many are unaware of their posture. Many also imagine they look completely different to what they actually do.
Excellent
I think I play with a Perfect Posture golfer.... the ending guy. Lol. ; )
Is that some Crossfield guitar at the end???

Related, I guess ....... I stand natural with my feet pointed in. Locks hips and restricts turn. Have to feel like I’m standing like a clown.
