This is so cool. It’s fascinating how the buildings around Marina City have changed since this was filmed. Outstanding structural infrastructure for these amazing architectural wonders.
I absolutely love this music from the 60s into the 70s. It’s out of some trippy acid crazy universe. They used this style a lot. Even for kids cute Sesame Street stuff, all the way to documentaries about anything. Bridges, space, technological advancements.
WGN's Walt Newton is the narrator, I was ready to assert it was Ray Scott but he's more of a Minneapolis/Green Bay "voice." Lots of industry speak to put the viewer into nap mode!
Wish they still made documentaries like this.
yeah now they just try to erase the good ones from the past
If this was made now it would be filled with rap music and incoherent nonsense.
Beautiful presentation and insightful too.
Interesting history behind creation of this world-class architectural icon. Thanks for posting.
Still fascinated by this place nearly 50 years later. Thanks for sharing the video!
You can't create detail where none exists, but this expanded resolution version is still more fun to watch than the original. Good job.
AI can create it though

This is pure sci-fi!
The music is both calming and creepy at the same time
...as a child of the 60s the optimism of tomorrow was overwhelming, how things have gone so wrong...
ya think ! Jeesh I was 12 when this was built. Saw it later from train crossing Chicago river.
I was a kid growing up in Cabrini-Green. Everyday we go watch them build this. It was amazing no black people.
Excellent
this is real trippy
I like a good trip !
This is wonderful. What is the status of Marina city now? I think it has seen better days.
