From an unbiased POV, I think this is the series where Luka beats his demons. It took Kawhi going nuclear last time. Betting on that to happen again is hard man. I'm a Mavs fan and I think Dallas will win, but I could also see it going the other way. Dallas has their strengths, but so do the Clippers. My main concern for Dallas is that the Clippers 3-8 options are better offensively than what Dallas has in those spots. Most of the Clippers players shoot 45% or better, whereas Dallas has a few players in their main rotation that are barely over 40% on FGA. I think the Clippers are a more talented roster overall. The main reason I'm picking Dallas is because of Luka and Kyrie, particularly Luka, and because the Mavs chemistry has been off the charts for the past couple of months.
You're kind of right, if you exclude the fact that Gafford and Lively are 1st and 2nd in the league in FG% at around 70%, Exum is shooting 50% on threes and Green is at 40% rn. I could understand an argument about threes exclusively, as Washington, Hardaway and Kleber haven't been good and Jones is definitely not a shooter, but all of them can attack closeouts and drive into the lane with floaters and layups. Dallas also has either Doncic or Irving on the floor at all times. I don't think Dallas has any problem offensively, it's the defenses that are going to decide the series.

As a Mavericks fan, being unbiased, i say the Clippers win in 7 because Clippers has more experience with each other than Harden, more talent across the roster, and a better coach. My argument that Mavericks can win in 6 or 7 games is that this is an entirely new roster with a new identity. Their new identity is attacking the rim and win with defense. Hence, Mavericks being top 10 in defense for 35ish games. And yes Luka is playing defense now, at least he's trying lol. I think key reasons I say I'd genuinely take Mavericks over Clippers is 3 reasons (besides Luka). Defense, Kyrie and Centers rotations. Yall say yall rather have Kyrie over Brunson, look it up, Kyrie has been putting near identical stats with Brunson this year while Kyrie playing as 2nd option and Brunson as the 1st option, and Kyrie is more battle tested than Brunson. Defense and Center rotation tie in together, but the defense has been on another level recently. PJ has been playing close, not literally, but close to all nba level defense, capable of defending almost every position. DJJ, Exum, Maxi, Josh green have also been positive defenders. The center has been the reason for the better defense imo. Gafford and Lively are similar player build which is very good because both are good rim protecters, rebounders, athletic lob threats, that can move around decently. So, unbias, i say Clippers in 7. But i wouldn't be surprised if the Mavericks win because they significantly improved in talent. My only thing is Kidd, i don't trust Kidd and is why i can't confidently say Mavericks are winning because our X factor is Jason Kidd... F**k
The Clippers will win the series, because there are 4 future Hall of Farmers to 2. Not to mention the Clippers has a deeper bench and is better on defense. The X Factor is PJ Tucker, he is a great defender.

It's either that or Mavs choking and going 4/30 on threes, which I can kind of see happening because of PJ, Kleber and Hardaway are stinking it up right now. However, we've shot under 37% from 3 in 11 of the 18 games in this 16-2 stretch and we've won all of them, including shooting 22% vs the Warriors and 25% vs the Nuggets. This Mavs team stays in games with their defense and finds ways to win with their offense.
Yeah that's what feels so "new" about this version of the Mavs, while they're still reliant on Luka (because what team wouldn't be) they can still win without him Really wish the Clips would have seen them post trade deadline
