I take my board off and walk the top ledge until the drop off into the bowl, if you do want to try for the first time wait until there is a decent snowfall then try, too many people just sideslip down making it very hard, also the moguls can be that big your friend can be a few meters away and you not see them. Good luck and I cant state how much adrenaline pumps the first time you do it, oh and don't forget to turn and wave at the crowd that forms at the top when you finally decide to try it, no pressure lol
