    He is such a big, lanky horse, I think he would profit immensely from real dressage training, particularly collection work.

    • @HollyLenahanSJ

      Perhaps you missed the part in the video where I talked about lengthening and collecting the canter

    • @petrairene
      @petrairene ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HollyLenahanSJ No, didn't miss that at all. That's definitely the right path. But with collection I mean not the jumper's collection of shortening the strides to adjust it to distances between obstacles, but the dressage variety where you aim at getting the hind legs more under the horse and engaged while shortening the stride length.

    Dali is such a good boy and as for Khal, well wow he can sure jump!! It is great watching you doing all this training with them hun. They have come on loads since you took them to France, but I guess you do have all the facilities you need to hand there and I bet all the physio etc is doing them the world of good too. They certainly do seem to be loving it there hun, that's for sure! Looking forward to your next vlog with them hunny 🥰❤

  • @CAR0TASTISCH
    @CAR0TASTISCH ปีที่แล้ว

    Super riding! I've asked about your posture on Dali before but in these clips you both look so smooth together! Maybe it's what you mentioned at 11:23 of him "pullling you down" where you would get yanked out of the saddle? Or because you couldn't mantain the flow in the canter, and he jumped much bigger than the actual fences? Like you've mentioned at 13:15. He's a big boy and his way of jumping is different from what I've seen! Looks very promising! There's a huge difference too between last show and this video. Like you both improved so much!!
    And Khal obviously is superb. Great decision of not overjumping him, since he copes well afterwards just on the show! Can't wait to see future shows and Dali stepping up a class xx

  • @R.a.p.h.a.e.l.a
    @R.a.p.h.a.e.l.a ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I love your horses! One thing I'm noticing is that Dali seems to swish his tail quite a lot, especially in the several strides after every jump. Is that normal for him, and/or why would a horse do that?

    • @HollyLenahanSJ
      @HollyLenahanSJ  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes it is normal for him, he even does it when he races around the field. Just a quirk of his. Every single avenue has been explored pain-wise, so that’s ruled out ☺️
