Another tip is to spread out the chemicals when adding to your pool. So if I need to raise alkalinity and PH. I add one and wait an hour to add the other. Never at the same time. Same with any other chemicals.
Your best bet is taking a sample of your pool water to a pool supply store that offers testing cause it could be many things.
But I would first balance your chemicals and then shock it. I’d also add flocculant and manually vacuum it the next day.

Buy a dolphin corded vacuum. Make sure it’s a fine filter option unit. That narrows it down. It acts as another filter cycling the thousands of gallons.

You’re going to have to drink it all. It’s the only way.

As a Florida State pool service Contractor I can tell you most of these videos are just selling you something. At least he didn't try to sell you BiCarb here. His recommendation that you clean your filter only two times a year can cause cloudy water all by itself. A lower pH (not too low) can help by making chlorine more productive and turning suspended particles and metals clear.

What if I have a cartridge filter and have done all these steps and still have a cloudy pool. PH lvls are in the pocket but free chlorine is over 5 ppm!!
