I recently found out I got into CPP as a transfer and was wondering if these are the only residential halls Pomona assigns students to, or do they continue to assign students to the older residential halls?
there are 4 main types of residence halls. There is the traditional old dorms, new dorms (the ones in the video), suites, and village. I beliebe the dorms are only for freshmen, whereas if you are a transfer you have the chance to choose between suites or village. the suites are more expensive since they carry a meal plan.
if you want to learn more , visit your local library, or go online at pbskids.org lmao jk haha if u decide to transfer u can love it!

Nice video, I was there right before they switched to semester system, i lived in the suits and both years i was there my room faced the construction site for those dorm buildings, talk about your 6 am construction equipment alarm clock. Also i suggest you check out Broncos Makers Club, its a club i helped start when i was there. If you like learning about cool things like 3d printing and using a laser thats the club for you.

we are still online and we wikl be back supposedly by fall 2021. however there is people dorming in the suites (150 people ish)

The residence halls are soo nice and modern, but I heard they aren't as social and don't have a close community like the traditional halls, which makes me want to live in the traditional halls. Did you find this to be true?? I have a hard time deciding which I want to choose
that is true, but the ups on living in the modern ones outweigh living in traditionals. traditionals have roaches, no soundproof walls(u can literally hear your neighbors) carpet floor, rocking chairs for desks, overall its just worse. i lived in both and i’ll definitely choose the residence halls. you can definitely still meet people :)

for engineering id probably do the traditional halls if u dont wanna walk that far. but those have carpet and i prefer secoya (the one in vid) a lot better

The new dorms lack the sense of community that the old dorms did. The old dorms were small, concise living spaces where everyone knew each other. The new dorms are basically just hotels. Trust me, you're lucky to be in the smaller dorms. Just because the new dorms are nicer, does not mean they offer a better experience
