    The idea to grow a Clematis in the Garrya for summer interest is brilliant!
    I was recently trying to think of a plant that I could grow in a container with a Hosta, which would come to the fore when the Hosta is dormant and then make itself scarce when the Hosta is in its full glory. Thinking about this, and then seeing the Garry/Clematis suggestion, made me realise that I would LOVE to see a video about plant pairings that "timeshare" nicely together, if you're ever looking for more video ideas.

    Reminds me of my childhood here in Melbourne, I’m talking about the 1960’s. My grandparents owned a wedding reception house and mum used to do the flower arrangements, this was a common filler for those big entrance vases.

      I haven’t found anything with Australian content that has grabbed me so far, that’s part of the reason we went down this route.

    Garrya elliptica is hardy to 10 F (-12.2 C), so they are very hardy plants. They grow in a range of habitats from coastal redwood forests to central arizona desert chaparral. I love this plant!! Thanks for making this great video!

      Always great to hear from people in the country of origin. It can add so much to my appreciation of a plant, and thanks for the feedback. Regards Stephen

    I would think it would be lovely in Central Florida, zone 9b 🇺🇸
    But what about our HIGH humidity?

    • @thehorti-culturalists
      @thehorti-culturalists  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't think it would love high humidity but may work if given a well drained and open airy site.Regards Stephen
