  • Not a usual start to finish video as it's been here about 12 weeks. I ordered MOSFET's from Germany, Filters from China, capacitors from Taiwan & all this stuff had to come.
Basically it was a bit deaf on receive, coming in at 2uV for 12dB SINAD instead of around 0.5uV. Some sets aren't much better than that anyway (like the Cobra 29 swish looking one from about 4 years ago)....but these are capable of being better. Ceramic filters are usually the culprit. Everything that I changed made it a tiny bit better.....then finally a 27pF capacitor.
    Recorded 2nd August to 23rd September 2024

Nice classic set in good condition too but I think if I'd ever owned one I would have kept on trying to change the channel with the squelch selector due to it's location under the display.

I like old CB Transceivers those had separate receiver and transmitter crystals. I enjoyed the frequency adjustment of each crystal by adjusting the variable trimmer capacitors connected parallel to crystals. Moreover push-pull audio Amplifier with input and output transformers. If anyone have those old cb Transceiver and want to sell it, I would like to purchase please.
    Regards to everybody.

Bear in mind I'm in the UK solely showing UK FM CB radios which operate on the unique UK frequency allocation from 27.60125Mhz to 27.99125Mhz. The UK government introduced the UK system in Novemvber 1981. The crystal controlled mobile sets weren't ever a thing in the UK as by 1981, they were all PLL synthesised. The only crystal controlled items were a few hand-portables.
