If I can offer up my opinion: I think your new content should be similar to “garden answers”. I like her channel but she does such large scale large budget projects it is hard to relate without feeling overwhelmed.
If you’re starting from scratch film every aspect. Where you get your seed, how you prep in the different seasons with updates on how each project is doing through out the year. This will help us who loves gardening but don’t know what we’re doing to follow more closely.
I second this!! A wealth of knowledge could be shared in the process you described.
Hey ; you disappeared I hope you enjoying new life style/children very happy to see you 🥰🥰🥰👍👍🏡🏡
Keep the videos coming on a regular basis, we're excited to see your new direction. Love the dress by the way.
Of all the gardening shows I watch, you make the most beautiful bouquets. I hope you don’t stop doing that. You have such a gift for that and it can continue to be a source of income for you.
Thank you so much!
When you start planting, would love to watch all the basic things you do to start!. Loving a balanced garden! Idea. Veggies, medicinal herbs, and of course, beautiful flowers. Fertilizers, when, what kind, how often!❤️
I'm really glad that you and Ian are getting along through this, and helping each other out. I'm sure it's still been tough, but at least being amicable with each other helps.
So many of these youtube channels are so fun to watch, but are large scale. Many of us are dealing with similar more urban space that you have - so anything you can show us on seed starting on a small scale, making the most of our space for flowers and vegetables, container gardening, etc would be great. Also, as a Canadian in a similar zone, it would be great to see Canadian climate specific gardening plans. Canadian content is sparse!
Soil improvement process will be fun to follow.
Hi Serena! You will have so much fun just planting things in your new garden that bring you joy and that you can eat. I look forward to see your progress. Best wishes to all of you as you plan out and shift the farming for next year. ❤
Serina, you did not come off as a jerk at all. Some people were obviously reading more into your comments than you intended. ❤ and 🤗
In your shoes right now, the only thing I’d be focused on in that garden is building soil and microbial life. Use the end of Summer/fall abundance of mulch material… get a tipper truck, drag a pile of it from the farm and literally dump it on the garden, a couple feet deep at least… composting in situ, with a mix of greens and browns, right on where you expect to be planting, brings the worms and microbial life in and it’ll have the winter to break down. If it’s not broken down by spring, you can plant into it by moving some of the decomposing matter, fill hole /row with compost- large enough for a root ball and plant into that. (Like with Lasagne method, and all that mulch will help with the heat, moisture retention) Don’t break your back tilling clay… build soil, and get perennials in. Anything else is madness. You want good tillable soil by summer 2025, don’t do it piecemeal.
It is so healthy that you are identifying ways to move forward and rediscover you at this point in your life and create your own journey. Blessings to you with each step you take…
I am still so sorry for that coming out, it's horrible for you. You will find a man who TRULY appreciates you and your womanly person
Remember to make sure you prioritize yourself and figuring out your plans before your put others ahead of yourself ❤❤❤You matter the most to you.
With all the crazy things going on in the world, it's nice to relax with some videos of a sensible person. Serina, I love you ❤️💪
Love your videos! I just found your channel and love it! You are very knowledgeable about flowers. I love flowers they are so beautiful but I would love to see you grow food in a vegetable garden! So many people love to buy food from a homegrown vegetable garden!! Can’t wait to see what you do going forward!!
Glad to see you pushing through this difficult chapter of your life ❤ but so happy your back and I hope you are well
Take care of yourself! You are definitely the best part of this business. I will follow you
HOW ARE YOU DOING!
WE LOVE YOU TWO!
Happy for you, keep the videos coming 😊
Excited to see you build your new garden! As others have said, the scale a lot of channels are working on can make it hard to relate. There is definitely a market for this kind of content. You've got this ❤
I agree. Most of these channels have acres of land and lots of $. I would love to sell flowers when I retire and just don't see their large scale as an option. Tips & tricks for the small garden, what seeds, what bulbs, what soil, all great topics.
We're happy to watch whatever your up to, if it helps you we're good 😊😊
Happy your looking forward to your new future ❤
Make your yard into a food forest. That will take care of the sun baking on the soil. Start with six inches of green wood chips. The wood chips will reduce moisture loss, as it breaks down, put nutrients into the soil as well as turn into soil. It will keep the PH at a constant. And with your knowledge of flowers, it would make a one of a kind food forest.
❤ Im sure you will make it You are a strong women and can do anything you put your mind up to do it ❤
You have been through so much on the farm, sounds like you will find your way just fine, and know that we are all rooting for you (no pun intended) to suceed in every possible way!
Well if your x doesn’t let you stay on the farm with him ; he giving up his BEST workers !! ♥️♥️♥️
Nice to see you take care.
For your sunbaked house, a few things that help: check if the attic is insulated against the roof heat, put up window shades on the OUTSIDE of the building (curtains don't help much if it heats the air behind them). This will save you money in AC, very worth it! If you don't want to open/close outside shades each day, consider something like a breeze aux lay (that's NOT the right spelling lol, just phonetic) that's angled to allow low angle sun, but not high summer sun. Same for any patios and thermal mass areas around the house.
Good luck! Thanks for the Q&A, it was interesting 😊
I’m so excited for the home gardening content as much as I liked the farm content.
Excited to see what new direction the channel takes! If you post it, we will watch! ❤
I'm sending prayers up for you and your family. It's OK to break down. Been there❤
The least amount of effort is berry bushes and the most nutrition for your food source!
Composting, cooking with your garden produce would all be lovely things to follow
New viewer - you absolutely did not sound like a jerk about your kitchen. 😁
This will be great info for all of us that have terrible dirt. My house is on top of a mountain, all rocks, no soil at all. Your journey will be great info for me. I would to try your grow some veggies.
I would love to see what you do from scratch. We are starting a new garden next year when we move and I'd like the motivation!
you could do more on the christmas stuff. ornaments and food.
I'm so excited!! I also favor food plants over flowering ones, though mostly because I'm kind of ignorant on how to care for flowers.
Instead of strenuous tilling, please buy enough enriched garden soil to cover your yard with from 4" to 6" of deep soil to garden in.
Over time, that soil will work its way down into your gritty fill. Add about 2" in future years to keep the top soil nutritious.
Hope you'll be happier with your new home and new life.
That sounds like way more work than improving the soil that's already they and way more expensive.
I keep thinking of how many nights you were up til 3 and 4 in the morning making bouquets. That will be your best part to see in the rearview mirror. ☺️. Go out there and create a whole new life! Farm labor is not for everyone.
Serena I'm sorry about what your going thru .
You are glowing, and that's the best revenge. ❤
Revenge? What do you know that we don't know? I think Serena looks great, on the way to new adventures. But Ian also looks much better, more relaxed, much more well-groomed. Obviously we have two great people here who were no longer doing well together and are now each thriving in their own way. Let's leave the speculation and blame behind and be happy for them both.
You know it, sister! 👹😂
Haven't seen the video yet, can't wait until I have some time
I thought of you today while roaming the drug store after my covid shot, I found two types of zinnia seeds at 75% off...very small packs vs the boxes of seeds you order, but I just have a container garden at my apartment...I grow mostly veggies and wildflowers with a touch of petunias, zinnias, nasturtiums, marigolds, and geraniums last year but missed out on the zinnias this year...I look forward to how you develop your new yard/garden
😂😂😂😂 COVID shot
@@Parmesito zinnia seeds...seed buying makes me think of Serina
@@igneousidol I really just can't believe people are still injecting that shit into themselves. Must be slow learners 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
For your veggie garden use raise beds it will help when your soil is not good.
HI THERE! YOUR HOME IS LOVELY. I AM HAPPY YOU'RE IN A GOOD HEAD SPACE. ARE YOU STILL PRIMARY DESIGNER/ ORDERING OFFICICER FOR RED ROOF FARM?
Very enjoyable live.
It would be great to do videos at your new place, starting a garden from scratch, especially now ppl all around the world are getting into self sufficiency
Maybe this year, you can show how you plant your seeds and show the progress of transplanting, too. A lot of people still dont know how to do such basic things.
Videos of prepping your garden from start you don't even need to talk on the video just record how you are doing it speed it up a little.
I say you could also sell flowers but since you have a small garden just sell big bouquets of the same flowers as the seasons go
Everyone going through divorce has to protect themselves. Promises get made in the early stages of the process that do not get honored once new partners come into the picture and old resentments reveal themselves from behind the blinders of denial.
You have a lot of plans. You are figuring it all out.
Serina, you need to put thermal black out curtains on your windows. They make a huge difference. Im in Kelowna in a 100 year old house with no ac. You can get good ones at Costco
My mom bought me a costco set, and they did help. I need a sun sail or something for the deck next year
Lay down cardboard, put 6 in of compost and 6 inches of wood chips down, by spring you will have fantastic soil! I did it, its amazing. Im in wa state just below you, i learned this from Paul Gautschi from back to eded channel😊
Thanks for the tips!
Old fat dude in Texas: You have moxy. I enjoy watching your videos. You are so talented! My wife introduced your videos a while ago. Chin up! Move forward.
❤
Content idea: would love to see an update on the grow light video (4 years ago) now that you have even more experience, LEDs are cheaper, and you're setting up a seedling room!
I don’t have raise beds and my ground isn’t good either but I mulch them with leaves every year. My garden is partial shade but I able to grow lots of sun loving flowers.
I"m just interested in your new adventures. And I don't wish to diss the husband, that's your personal area. Also, we know you were just comparing the kitchen to the other ones lol We just joked through comments to make light laughter I thought. I hope 🙂🙂 We see that your husband and you are still working things together while you adjust to your new method of operations 😊 I hope we didnt insult you, I kinda feel bad with our comments.
**IS THERE A PLANT/FLOWER YOU WOULD LIKE TO TAKE FROM THE FARM THAT HAS SENTIMENTAL VAULE?
Oh those purpley/green ones in her personal garden!!
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR YOUR NEW HOME GARDEN FOR THE NEXT GROWING SEASON
Do you grow alstromaria? Wha a fantastic flower! Long lasting in boutiques and so funand easy to pick! No bending down! Comes in every color!
I'll have to look into it
For now just focus on ur house, kids, and ur self. Don’t try working another job just bump out extra videos on the channel to help it grow
Where did you buy the crates to grow the tulips
When you order bulbs, they come in those crates
Oh no, now we're left wondering if something happened to the dogs....😅😬
The dog was fine! She was just telling me my talking is annoying apparently, lol
I believe they only had cats!
Is there a botanical garden in your area that you could tour & video for the viewers? I would be interested in hearing your opinon on the flowers. Thanks! Have a blessed day :)
Would like to see more food preserving and cooking videos, I remember me liking urs back in the day and I learned from u ur dutchbaby recipe that I still use. And that I’m able to freeze lemons and tomatoes as is lol
👍👍👍👍👍👍😊🌺
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Have you thought of building a wallapini into your slope. This way you can grow food all year round.
Why wouldn’t the business just sell the farm to Ian or his new company?
She seems to be the biggest loser and Ian comes out as a manipulator, sadly.
@@CaribouOrangeabsolutely
I need help with soil and fertilizer. Basics.
Oh Serena I haven’t watched in a while because I can’t garden at the moment due to my hips. I need to catch up in what’s been happening to you. ????
💯👍❤
Will you have a new name for us to fine you?
Hi Serina, I am not gonna lie I am disappointed you and Ian are separating 😢. Is it bad to hope for a reconciliation?
I am concerned how you will be able to support yourself and your children as well as utilities for your home!
Watch her videos!
Very unhelpful comment to someone who is trying to sort their life out, and I am sure already had to deal with fear and anxiety about figuring finances out. Maybe it would be better if you kept your "concerns" to your self if there is nothing nice you have to say.
I can't stand it that you too has changed the LIVE settings to vertical. I am subscribed to another Channel that that happened to
Why are you doing all the work for HIS farm?
I think it is beautiful that they are supporting eachother through this transition. It's a very mature thing to do and also in the best interest of the kids.
It sounds like their separation is amicable, it's not black and white. The farm was her passion too. I think she is strong to be able to do that considering she be hurting and might not want to be there every day. Serina is very strong.
It sound like this year they are still sharing in the profits but that will change next year. Also, sounds like he is helping her with filming and editing the videos.
They're still untangling things this year. It's in their best interests to help each other until they are more settled. No sense in blowing up the operation mid-season - the kids need their parents to have stable income.
It sounds like they are being as fair as they can with one another. Ian's mom is helping him buy Serina's interest in the property, so she will get an equitable share of the assets.
I know it's tempting to read into what is happening with them, but Serina asked in a past video that we not speculate about it.
Does Ian have a new woman yet who will stepmom your children and how about you ..any new man on the horizon??
What's wrong with you? Mind your own business
Ahaha i was about to use the exact same words! @@EeeEee-bm5gx
There are some really horrible people out there.
Why dint you mind your own business first !!!
its a LOGICAL question AND SHE IS PUBLICLY STATING HER AND IAN ARE DIVORCING
YIKES
Yuck
