The only cars that usually ran in this class were the Opel Kadett, Alfasud, Fiat 128 3P, Ford Fiesta and Austin Metro. There were no Datsun's that I remember, although the Citroen GS was tried at times.
@@inquisitor229 : Many thanks. You're correct, it's a GS. The CX was the largest of the Citroen. I'd been looking at CX's on eBay yesterday, hence why I had them on my mind. Thanks for the uploads. It's been great seeing old tin top stuff from the 80's.
Thanks for that update. I tended to label my tapes with the year it was finally filled. So it's likely that copied footage ran in the following year. There wasn't much motor racing on TV in those days...... :>)
83 was also 1st year production saloons ran on slicks ,worth over 4secs a lap in the dry but very hairy in the wet but still quicker than threaded premium brand road tyres
