    Expensive road tax @ £735 & group 50E insurance group... Shame the powers to be are pricing us out the Performance car market... Good video 👍

    If you don't buy the cheapest junk, it's not that expensive 😁 even though it's an old car and the design is a few years old, it's still beautiful and a head turner today. The mistake many people make is to buy a cheap R8 and think that the maintenance and spare parts are also cheap. But it's the opposite, the spare parts have become more and more expensive over the years.

    Great video, honestly my biggest expense with the LC is tyres! Especially replacement ones that get nails in them. Nearly £400 a time (each)

      What tyres are you getting? Continental sport contact 7s are about £260 per corner… I know tyres brands are preference to your driving.

    I’ve just sold my v8 manual gated.
    Sorry SCC but even though you said the garage that did the work for you wasn’t a paid ad, I paid £460 for oil service like yours and issue on rear hand brake calliper’s and pads was £2400.
    We don’t all have access to this garages that charge mates rates.
    Great content though and I’ll continue to watch SCC 👍🏻

    • @ScottishCarClan

      There were no mates rates sadly! That was only the cost of the labour I listed off in video when talking about the service. I believe the oils, filters etc. added up to around £270 on top of that.
      Thanks for watching! Very much appreciated

      I believe he was just talking about the handbrake pads which are MUCH cheaper than the actual rear brake pads that you had changed

      I’m confused as to why you didn’t include the full cost

    • @ScottishCarClan

      I did… £982.03 was the full cost. I just didn’t itemise the parts for the service (oil, filters, washers)

    • @redemptionx2918

      Pads are fairly cheap on the R8 first gen. You can get Brembo fronts for £150. To change the brake pads takes about 20-30 mins per wheel!

  • @vdubben1

    God knows how the service cost £180, parts and the good oil cost £200+ alone

    • @ScottishCarClan

      I wasn’t very clear in the video! That was plus the cost of oils, filters etc!

    Sounds very cheap. 180 hardly pays for the oil alone here in Sweden. Is that incl labor?
