My wife was killed in a car accident in 1987. Every time I hear this song it brings her back to me. I still miss her so very much. We only had nine years but they are very precious So beautiful.

These notes and lyrics are so evocative of the love and aching need we had for your Grandmothers when we were young and skinny and strong and beautiful and ignorant. Beautiful rendition, the first time I saw Elvis Presley, performing this song. I was an employee of the International Hotel. We were setting up the showroom with sheets on the tables and chairs. We were listening and watching Elvis Presley perform. At one point all of us stopped. We were absolutely Blown Away. I don't think there was not one person that was in that showroom that did not have tears coming out of their eyes. I was 15 years old. Made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Her beauty is just as stunning as her voice. Benedetta is perfect. I cannot take my eyes off her. When she speaks, the rich Italian reveals her definate passion. I recently watched her do the one breath challenge. Wow. She really enjoyed it, as did I. Her smile is infectious. My favourite version of "Unchained Melody" has always been by the Righteous Brothers and I've never heard a really good version of it by a female singer until this young lady came along and knocked it out of the park.

@@pokeysdad17 I believe I've heard every version of this song that's ever been recorded, even Sam Cooke's. In fact I'm old enough that I went to see the movie "Unchained" in which this song was first sung by Todd Duncan. We used to dance to Al Hibbler's version of it. In any case, Cooke's version is too gentle, more like a lament, and not powerful enough to convey the emotions felt by the prisoners.

The vocal competition videos you've seen were a. taken 8 -10 years ago when Benedetta was very young and b.they were recorded by someone in the audience using their phone or amateur camera. Since then Benedetta studied Pop and Jazz singing at a Music Academy and her singing voice and technique have improved tremendously. She is a star in the making now!!

When Benedetta drops an octave at 1:24 the harmonics just kick in and then it sounds angelic. You can hear the volume and fullness of her voice which makes it exceptional.

I just wanted to let everyone know? The massage she was giving me, while singing this beautiful song? Never missed a beat. I enjoyed EVERY aspect, (although, at times, I believe she thought I was a piano, unsure as to why.. but who cares!) and would highly recommend her.. should she ever be willing to do this again, which, of course, is highly doubtful.

We never got to say goodbye...we never parted amicably or even hostile...we were just torn apart by our countries war, when she was tragically taken from us. There is a Wikipedia page on her, and lots of other youtube videos showcasing that voice. It is natural to be skeptical of gorgeous and hugely talented women, but this lady is blessed with that combination.
