    I have this revolving stand and I’d love this for my village but it would cost me a fortune buying all those tools you used to make it! Nice work and Roll Tide! ( I couldn’t help but notice your Auburn sticker) Thanks for sharing!

      Hello ! Thanks for the video Quick question, I have the same stand but since I bought it it makes like a click sound while rotating… does yours do the same thing or is just that mine is broken 😂

    What type wood did you use is that 1/2 mdf or regular plywood?

    • @RobertWadlingtonDIY
      @RobertWadlingtonDIY  ปีที่แล้ว

      Either type is okay. After doing this several times, I think mdf is more stable as to staying flat and not warping as does plywood as it dries out. But you got to keep moisture away from mdf by painting or add a sealcoat on all surfaces. Don't overweight the tree revolver by using real dense mdf which is heavy, try to find and use what they call light-weight mdf. If not available near use use 1/2" thickness over 3/4" thick.

    How does it turn when the village is plugged in?

    • @RobertWadlingtonDIY
      @RobertWadlingtonDIY  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The revolving tree stand has an electrical plug that rotates as well. Your lights plug into it directly or with the use of extension cord(s) that feed electricity to each level.

    You sir are most awesome....where did you find those pvc connecters

    • @RobertWadlingtonDIY
      @RobertWadlingtonDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For the last two years got online from FlexPVC.com. Price was reasonable but shipping charges are high. Just this year I found you can order online at Walmart. Their website list them under name "Formufit furniture grade table screw caps.

    Bob, thanks to your videos and information, I have built an incredible version of this for myself. However, I am struggling with mounting the rotator to the base with the Lazy Susan. The best I have come up with is a 1.25 dowel, that I have slotted so that it fits down into the rotator and grabs a slot. That left me with something like a table leg to work with at the top, so I have been trying a table leg plate, but the rotation keeps loosening and messing me up... Can you give me some more specific details of what you did to adapt the rotator to your first shelf?

    • @ViperSBT
      @ViperSBT 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      FWIW, I am using the same "gold" rotator that you are. What size PVC did you use in the rotator? It looks like you removed the top fitting of the rotator? Does that make it "sloppy"? My setup is a bit massive, bottom shelf is 48" and overall height is about 9'.

    • @RobertWadlingtonDIY
      @RobertWadlingtonDIY  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brett, that is the most difficult part of this. I used a 1 inch pvc pipe; it was still a little loose (but not very much), and wedged around it with home made wedges or you can cut down those carpenter wedges from the home improvement stores. Did you see the addl video I did just after this video to talk in more detail about that connection point to the rotator and base using pvc or plumber’s steel floor flange. The steel threaded pipe and floor flange will fit, but it maybe difficult to impossible to remove that pipe from the rotator. Hope this helps.

      @@RobertWadlingtonDIY I'll take a look at that video... The way I have mine designed right now, when I put the Lazy Susan and first "plate" on the base, there is a hole in the middle that I can drop the dowel down through and then attach to the plate from above...

    Where did you get the revolving base stand (the gold base)?

    • @RobertWadlingtonDIY
      @RobertWadlingtonDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Home Depot for $99. Might be a back order, but Amazon has the same for $135.

    • @RobertWadlingtonDIY
      @RobertWadlingtonDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, buy a revolving stand that has an electric outlet for decoration lights that revolves with tree. Buy on Amazon, at any home improvement or big box store.
