I have 10ft rods & do find they’re like pokers
My previous carping was 40 + years ago with lovely bendy fibreglass rods

My lad can chuck 22 wraps with his 12ft 2.75. His mate who is semi pro can chuck 28 from the same rod. So which 13ft aviator should we go for. He has been fishing for years, but hasn't really done any long rang practice other than casting for fish. So there is plenty room for improvement with the right tool and some practice in field.

Mark, a very helpful video - additionally what is your view on 40mm vs 50mm rings on carp rods?

Both in reality cast very similar distances assuming a nice supply line, and braid particularly. It's personal choice really. I'm happy with 50mm as long as the rings are light weight like the minima TDG rings. Ceramic models can be weighty.
