It's sad to think about, but with Jerry Having died in 2004, and his son Joel passing away 8 years later, we'll probably never hear another Goldsmith compose music. On the other hand, what a legacy to leave behind. Truly timeless music

By far, the best ever music recorded for any Star Trek movie In the history of the franchise is during the Vulcan landing on Earth at the end of FIRST CONTACT. Absolutely stunning and very emotional moment at the theater when I saw it. There were people intently watching the movie that night, almost like watching Humanity on film as if it really happened. The music in that movie was everything to that experience.
22 freaking years later and i STILL get chills from this scene. It's one of the most powerful moments in Star Trek. it's literally what Star Trek is all about.
@@GBeagle1407 you may have been joking, but in case: Jerry Goldsmith composed some (the best) of the Star Trek music in this video and Gene Roddenberry created Star Trek. Both had a tremendous grasp of the vision that is Star Trek.
Thank you, Tyrannicus -- your incredible ability and passion has lifted me up and has given me the courage to face my own undiscovered country: at age 70 and beyond.
Putting together the scene without the dialogue and just the music is one of my absolute favorite things to do in Trek. It’s a testament that Trek in everything it does although hopeful for the future makes you BECOME apart of the present situation in order for that hope of Trek to be truly realized. It makes the emotion of what is at stake become so visceral and feel “more real” in a sense. THERE IS NOT A BETTER FRANCHISE!
A beautiful arrangement, thank you. Can never overstate the amazing pieces of music that Jerry Goldsmith gave us. The section starting at 34:50 from Insurrection when Picard finds Geordi looking at the sunrise, that scene never fails to bring a tear to my eye, so much expression and emotion from Levar Burton.
For some reason I find visorless Geordi to be far superior to visor Geordi, perhaps that enhanced the "nice guy" vibes that he sometimes gave off, First Contact and beyond he was fantastic.
Just got to say thank you! All my favorite themes arranged in one clip, if only I could have this running in my car! What I would give for one more TNG movie with Goldsmith doing the music.
Miller Animations Oh I am aware but I can dream :) I had hoped his son would pick up the mantle after helping on First Contact and doing the Star Gate SG1 etc. work but sadly he has also passed away.
Your first word is the key one. There is some divine inspiration here, I feel. The Holy Spirit is WAY more active than we think - it paid me a visit in February, when I begged for mercy in a health predicament, and I love it more dearly than words can say.
I have just found this video and all I can say is WOW. I have been listening to this whilst building the Enterprise E. It gave me the passion and desire to keep going. Thank you
Have to admit when the Klingon theme kicks in and one sees the resolve on Worf's face you know that between this warrior and the arrival of the Enterprise, the Borg are about to take a beating ...
U have done a great job of putting all of these track together, I do not need videos since I play to listen while I work and play on my computer. Thanks so much for doing these suits and sharing them. I have the entire collection of all Star Trek movie and music on cd but my computer is a lap top and this is the only way I can listen to music with ear buds and not disturb anyone else in the house. I grew up a trekie and will always be one, lol. I hope someday (probably long after I am gone) that Gene Rodenberry dream to explore the universe comes to pass, before humans destroy themselves, and that it turns out we are not alone.
I just listened to all of this. Love Goldsmith in general, even more so on Star Trek. This combo of First Contact, Insurrection and Nemesis is really something! Thanks for the upload!
The First Contact theme...... perfect. Amazing job again by the way, makes me miss the old TV series and Movie universe even more, they really need to get started on another as soon as the "Abrams trilogy" is finished.
MASTER WU Something I would like to see is an Abramsverse TV show, which combines both the action from the abrams movies and the sci fi, exploration and moral issues of the other shows.
Same here, man. It's comforting, in a way. No matter how bad things get, how dark they seem at times, this is still out there. We can always look to this vision of a better future, and we can take hope from it.
Quite agree. Let's cut through some of the lightweight or trivial-ish comments around here and get to the nitty-gritty. With this inspired masterwork of splicing playing in the background we are taken irresistibly to some greater and finer place than we have or know now. Star Trek's relationship with religion was always fraught and ambiguous to say the least. Is this a humanist take that puts humans on a pedestal with no need for God at all, or is this in fact a deeply-religious franchise, in which the goodness and brilliance humans are able to muster at their best is indeed the clearest sign of God's existence and benificence? For me, the music at its best has the Holy Spirit of God behind it and within it. So I think I have the answer I need to the above conundrum.
1:18:15 'Final Flight' when Data gets blown out into space and boards the Scimitar was awesome 😎. Its all playing during Picard & Shinzon's Final Fight.... I get it now.
I got into Star Trek because of Jerry. His music was incredibly powerful. The score for The Motion Picture is one of the best pieces of film music ever recorded--it's like a musical tone poem. Of TNG films, I'd have to say the score to Insurrection gets the most plays but they are all so incredibly expressive. The theme that Tyrannicus mentions that runs through all three films is generally called the "Friendship Theme" and it made its first appearance in Jerry's score for The Final Frontier, another powerful score that is often overlooked in his catalog. It makes a very prominent appearance in the cues "A Busy Man" and "An Angry God."
The Insurrection theme speaks volumes of what that movie actually means. I wish people gave it more credit....it was one of the most 'Trek' films of them all dealing with many of the themes explored in the show, even if we've seen it all before.
Kirk: Kahn are up for a rematch? I'm laughing at the superior intellect. Kahn: Full impulse power! Damn you!! Kirk: He is persistent, I'll give'em that.

The BEST for the Grait Galactic Bird King Roddenberry
