@@TonysTractorAdventure It'll make an awesome table as you describe. I've got my house filled with my own T and G flooring, wall coverings and even some of the ceilings. The 4 seasons room and closets are all 100% red cedar and yellow pine. So there's a combination of several varieties of oak, ash, cherry hard and soft maple, pine, red cedar and American elm throughout the house, either in flooring, wall covering or trim. Most all originating off the circle saw mill I grew up on back on the home place. Nothing yet off of the Frontier though.

Been running a professional shop for over 3 decades and I've never considered paying over $5.00 bf for band-mill lumber.
Every sawyer cuts yard-wood and they cut thin then they'll try to convince you that air dried is as good as kiln dried.
Current wholesale cost for 4/4 cherry (Appalachian ) delivered to the door in less than a week is $4.35bf.
Which means for your 8' board 12" wide I'd pay around $35.00. Now I buy "rough" which means it comes in between 1-1/8" and 1-3/16 AFTER kiln drying and I have almost zero chance of running metal through my machines. FAS means my boards come in without sapwood, checking or large or loose knots, also 4" minimum width of usable lumber.
Sawmills can make a person money but it takes a whole lot of work and really good marketing to make better than market, especially the "$100.00 board!
