  • Truth? I was the girl who spent lunches and hours after school in the darkroom...that might totally age me, but really kids, you have NO idea what you're missing. The darkroom was a world of red lights, chemical baths, and endless tactile pleasures...it was amazing! ðŸĪĐ
These days I'm less about snapping the perfect photo and more about curating the perfect gallery. Not surprisingly, the members inside our membership seem to struggle with this which isn't surprising it can be hard if you don't know where to start.
So here's how I make curating images easy (and fun!):
    1ïļâƒĢ Start with Pinterest 📌
Creating a Pinterest board for your brand is like getting a bird's-eye view of your brand aesthetic. Think of it as your brand's mood board come to life.
Head over to Pinterest and start pinning things that excite you: fonts, typography, logos, imagery, ads, architecture, decor - anything that floats your boat! Then, take a step back and curate your collection. Organize, delete, and refine until you have a visual vibe that truly represents YOU.
2ïļâƒĢ Head to Your Favorite Stock Photo Site 📷
Now it's time to head to your favorite stock photography site (Pexels.com is a great free option!) and look for images that would fit seamlessly into your Pinterest board. If you can say, yes I'd pin this one to my board, you are on the right track!
3ïļâƒĢ Filter Photos Through These Questions 🙋‍♀ïļ
"Do I love it?" Remember, we're creating a personal brand here. So the pictures have to represent who you are, what your brand is about, and what your brand aesthetic (as defined by your Pinterest board) is all about.
"Would it resonate with my ideal audience?" Is it aspirational or inspirational enough for them? Will they see themselves in these photos?
"Do I have content to support this photo?" Do I have content that I can share with this photo? You might find a great photo of a dog on a long dirt road leading to a rustic cottage, but if your brand vibe is high-end and fancy, well, that photo might not have any place in your collection.
That's it! Make sure to save this post for when you're ready to get to work and drop any questions below👇
