Nice video, thanks for sharing! I wonder what happened in mid-May of '89, that people couldn't walk up to the steps of the monument anymore? :(

It wasn't easy to get into the Tiananmen Square during the demonstration. Another student helped me get oil one time, and I went in with a group of Peking University professors checking on some students.
As far as what happened, the truth is out there. The Western media continues to insist 10,000 people died, but logistically, that impossible. The action started at 2 am, when the soldiers entered at Muxidi, which is 4 miles to the West of the Square.
Sunrise is at 4:30am in Bejing in June. So, it's impossible for 10,000 people to have died, bodies, taken away, and streets cleaned up. There were hundreds of Western reporters there, yet there aren't any pictures of thousands of bodies.
It's unfortunate, it happened, and more unfortunately, with the censorship and coverup. Nevertheless, I continue to hide out in Beijing every Fall.

@@blcsfo Hopefully one day, I'll be able to visit the Square as well. Would love to meet up or chat with you if I'm ever back in the mainland again, once all this virus stuff is out of the way and westerners are allowed back in. Thanks for your comments and video.
