The SVR accountant must be rubbing his hands in glee. The trains were rammed all day. We reached the SVR Kidderminster car park at 8.10 - first train 8.30 - and had to search for a space. Coming back from Highley behind the Stanier 2-6-0 at about 4pm it was standing room only to Bewdley. Staff said they’d never seen such numbers at a Gala before!
Magnificent I was here on Saturday and I’ve caught the stanier mogul in the 1990s guide of 2968 and also see the flying pig and taw valley before the are gone soon after
Splendid coverage of the gala with some nice variety of locations and motive power on show. I particularly liked the sequences at Rifle Range; 43106 was certainly going like the clappers there! I also enjoyed the shot of 7812 at Tenbury Wall, this is a position I myself would like to use, but I'm unsure of whether lineside passes are required for it; I don't suppose you know any more? It would seem the SVR's done well from the gala anyhow, considering I've seen talk elsewhere of standing room only! That'll be a welcome boost for the line's revenue if so, just what they need. Kind regards, Adam T.
Thanks 👍. Yeah, the Pig really was going for it at Rifle Range, although for a second before it came into shot, the driver eased off and everybody glanced around at each other with worried expressions! Thankfully, the Flying Pig was opened up again and really loved up to it's nickname! About Tenbury Wall, I don't think you need a lineside pass, I don't have one myself. In fact, the majority of people there don't have lineside passes, so it should be alright for you to go.
The answer to your question about the S160, is that Peter Best the owner of the loco, might have a retube of the boiler, since it been running from August 2019. It might go to Dartmouth Steam Railway to get repaired or the Severn Valley might repair it, Again depending on the owners dession
@lnerrules-iw6ry But equally if repairs etc.. are carried out, will Omaha end up in similar condition 6 or so years down the line? Is it even worth spending time and money for an engine that doesn't get used very often? I personally think Omaha will be withdrawn now, much to my disappointment though.
@@MaximumPressureSteam If it was the locos owner I would withdraw it for an early overhaul or the loco go up For Sale. The present owner did sell it on the NYMR many years ago
Awesome video mate - couldn’t make it to this gala but great footage. Brilliant 👍👍
Thanks 👍

Good news for the railway, just what they need this in this current situation with the survival fund and everything.

Thanks 👍. I'm going to miss the Pig.
Fantastic coverage!
Rifle range is always a great shout when the sun is out!
Those crimson+cream coaches match 2968 well!
Regards, Liam
Thanks 👍. I was actually quite surprised how well the Mk1s matched with the Mogul!
Brilliant video! It certainly was a great weekend!
Thanks 👍

Super video from the Winter Steam Gala :)
Thanks, it certainly was a brilliant gala!
I saw the S160 looking disgraced to itself at Bridgnorth shed after it failed before the gala had even started
I wonder what will happen next with Omaha?

@@lnerrules-iw6ry I guess we will have to wait and see for the eventual fate of Omaha.
Also noticed you was stood amongst me and others for 7812 at tenbury, which person was you lol
I was one of the ones who dashed from Orchard Crossing after the Standard! I often have blue coat on, and I'm also quite young.
Pity Taw Valley's ticket runs out soon. She's sounding really good there
Well, at least it's only an intermediate overhaul, Taw Valley shouldn't be out of traffic for too long if all goes well.
Amazing video
Thanks 👍. I do hope the SVR runs a similar event next year because it's so enjoyable and the trains were rammed, a win-win situation!
