I always thought the biggest problem with impact wrenches was that they sacrifice rotational speed for torque, so they take a lot of time to screw in very light screws that an impact driver, or even a drill/driver (or just a power screwdriver even) would take less time driving. But time seems to be the only compromise, apart from concerns of overdriving of course - but I think most modern impact wrenches have decent low-torque settings, so this is compensated for somewhat.
that's the beauty of it if you have screws that are too short and need to fasten two pieces of wood together you can drive it halfway through the first board LOL
Looks really good on paper however the tool is heavy and if you have to drive screws all day it will get very tiring. You will enjoy a lot more with the lighter tool
Nice video. My impact driver broke, and I have to buy a new one to finish my shed build project. However, I usually work on cars and sometimes I do woodworking. So I thought buying new impact wrench is more cost effective.
great if you don't want to spend more to get an impact driver. But, I tried this adapter and there was too much play and it made it a little frustrating to use
Only concern would probably be watch for the effects of the increased ft/lbs or in/lbs and probably increased impacts just in case it might be a bit more aggressive than a regular impact driver
Thank you for the video. I’m planning to get one for my atomic impact wrench. Do you know any adapters that can turn 1/2 impact wrench to a drill with 1/2 chuck? Thanks.
Finally u help me decide I was impact driver and getting hex to 1/2", 1/4", 3/8" adapters going for half inch impact wrench getting the half inch to hex and half inch to 3/8" 1/4" socket adapter cleared it up low settings for screws fasteners ect then I. Ready for lug nuts
I just bought a baurer impact wrench thinking it was a impact drill. Im new to tools & was worried I had bought it for nothing since I just wanted it to drill in screws. Thanks for this video. I'm definitely going to buy one instead of buying a drill.
Usually not using the impact wrench when I'm doing woodworking, and usually not using bits when I'm doing automotive repair work with the impact wrench. When would I ever use this?
ANY bits, adapters or connectors attached to an impact wrench, impact driver that wobble on a FREE/NOT UNDER LOAD tool.. it’s a normal phenomenon! and once you put it under load and use it for an application, it will drive steady and firmly.. why? because a pressure, power and torque is applied to the fastener .
@@InsuranceIsLegalizedRobbery thanks a lot for your answer, appreciate it! So does that mean when I buy bits for it (not adapters) there could still be a wobble in it? Thanks
That's another good video I've only seen this adapter before never used it looks nice compact if you use it on a 1/2 impact wrench but if you not doing installations in small spots then this will save you time and give you more room in your tool bag
Yes there is. I bought a 1/2" drive and a 3/8" drive years ago and never use either one. They are a complete waste of money and a good way to break fasteners. You're much better off with even an el cheapo impact driver.
I like it. Them are hard to find in most stores. Plus it maybe over power them little bits to handle. Maybe a piece of paper in the adapter to avoid the wobble. Thanks

If you're looking for a good impact wrench, clarkes do one (corded) for under £80 I can testify they're very good and powerful. I'd advise against using an impact driver to remove nuts as they don't have the same amount of torque that impact wrenches do. Impact wrenches can also be used as impact drivers 👍hope this helps
Sorry, but is it possible to use an impact wrench with an adapter and Phillips impact bit similar to a *hand tool impact driver* ? The one that use a hammer to strike the top of tool to loosen screws
Does the adapter have a spring loader bit holder that ejects the bit when you pull the release ring or is it a manual release that you have to pull and remove the bit by hand?
If you had to own one or the other (impact wrench vs impact driver), then is it better to have an impact wrench with an adapter, or better to have an impact driver with an adapter? Interesting item but I don't know about using an impact. Wrench is an impact driver as an impact driver tool usually has a few delicate modes on it and an impact wrench is more of a ball in a china shop
Thing is, if I pair a drill driver with an impact wrench and this adapter, I'd be getting the Milwaukee M18 high torque impact wrench. Is that going to be too much for 1/2 anvil to 1/4 hex?
Most of the better impacts have switch settings for low, mid and hi tq. And a variable speed trigger. I bought a kit with an impact driver and impact wrench. Going to sell the driver and keep only the wrench and use an adapter similar to the one in the vid. The primary use will be automotive. So keeping the wrench makes more sense for me.
