    Great video again. Wasn't sure if you mentioned which Matrix hook you use for hair rigging worm, corn, wafers etc?

    • @CatchFishingChannel
      @CatchFishingChannel 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Richard, for hair-rigging I just use the MXC-6 on barbless venues - this one www.fishmatrix.co.uk/home/product/mxc-6?c=hooks-hooklength and on venues where barbed hooks are allowed I use the MXB-1 mate this one www.fishmatrix.co.uk/home/product/mxb-1?c=hooks-hooklength hope this helps :) Jamie

    Great video Jamie 👍any chance of showing us your way of using the matchman hook tyer? Do you have problems with the hooks slipping during whipping? I have even placed a tiny washer on the wheel to improve the clamping force but still encounter the same problem 😬 cheers Nigel

    • @CatchFishingChannel

      Thanks Nigel! Oh no mate, sorry to hear you've had problems but I've been using one for 20-25 years so I guess I don't really think about it now. Yes of course I can put a video together but I never have any problems. Thanks for watching mate :) Jamie

    Great video! I prefer hooklength boxes but I do wonder if the line is "stretching" in those?

    • @CatchFishingChannel
      @CatchFishingChannel 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good point mate! It's always best to not stretch the line especially if you plan on storing the hooklengths for any sort of length of time mate. Jamie

  • @marokow4101
    @marokow4101 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great organization and configuration. I use a similar one, with the difference that I use two lengths of hooklenght. Length 1 m on yellow rolls, 75 cm on blue rolls.

    Another brilliant informative video. I love you're organisational hooklength system. In addition to your shock leaders , do you make up waggler set ups or non shock length feeder rigs onto the hook retaining systems so you can change the feeders and free running or fixed rigs? Thanks again for a fab video Jamie.

    • @CatchFishingChannel
      @CatchFishingChannel 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks John! I rarely fish the waggler these days but when I did I used to carry them on rigs yes mate. I carry spare shockleaders which are tied and stored on spools (I'll show you those in the next video) and yes they are both fixed and free-running rigs. Thanks for the feed back mate :) Jamie

    Hi Jamie could you tell me with the hooks on spool , do u remove the pin or hook first ?

  • @grahamnash9794
    @grahamnash9794 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just when I thought I knew it all !!! Little question. I fully understand the reason for shock leaders. However, if the main line is 0.16, the leader is 0.22, and then there's the hook link of 0.14. Why not just have the thicker line directly on the reel in the first place?

    • @richardwebb6045
      @richardwebb6045 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would imagine that the smaller diameter line on the reel would aid casting much better if you are fishing at distance. It would also more likely be braid and your leader would be mono.

    • @CatchFishingChannel
      @CatchFishingChannel 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question mate, it's because the thicker shockleader helps peel the line off the reel easier. The 0.22 wouldn't come off the reel anywhere near as easy and with a leader. I also like the extra stiffness you get with a thick leader and it's stiffens up the rig if that makes sense mate? Jamie

      @grahamnash9794 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      And as a side, does it fit on the 4 wheel transporter well?

    • @CatchFishingChannel
      @CatchFishingChannel 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I talk about that in the next video mate but basically it suits my fishing better. I only really feeder fish so it's ideal for me and the base unit is really handy for hook storage etc

    • @richardwebb6045
      @richardwebb6045 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Paul, if you want the hook to be barbed then you'll need the MXB-3 type as the MXC-3 is barbless. Also Benwick Sports have both of these in stock and are a great shop to buy from. Hope this helps 👍
