I read part of the rogue deku arc, and he didn't come across as "dark" as much as just obsessively and depressedly/unsustainabl/self-destructively focused. He was caught up in a whirlpool of chaos, duty, and war, and he couldn't abide by the absurdly reactionary and impotent Hero paradigm in a time of crisis. Honestly, one of the main reasons that the League of Villains was so successful is that the government protected from a top-down perspective, in that only a few elite gov-sponsored individuals were allowed to utilize their powers to defend and maintain morale of the entire society (those not licensed as heroes have no legal right to defend themselves using their quirks, ever), rather than fostering a communal attitude of mutual self-defense. And then, when the villains carried out multiple successful attacks to undermine the Hero society's foundations, Hero leadership just kept acting like everything was normal instead of treating the threat like the declaration of War that it was. When EVERYONE has the potential to manifest a power equivalent to military-grade WOMD's, what do you do? Legislate and control, or educate and enable? On the other hand, the lore DOES also correlate with our Japan's up-till-recently focus on small, elite national defense force policy, so the setting does make sense.
So many interesting mixes. Feels like Castlevania, feels like Spiderman, feels like Yuki Hayashi's scores and then it shifts into Hans Zimmer's dark knight motifs- because of course you got to have the Batman for any dark vigilante story!
I was inspired by "RISE" form The Dark Knight Rises, hence the title of this theme! And i also did a slower version for "Revengers" See if you guys can spot them and i hope that you enjoyed this theme!!!
