👑👑👑 I'm in the midst of releasing my dream miniature brush as well as some wonderfully sculpted miniature busts mid June 2020. It's something I'm really proud of and been working on for the better part of the last year. You can already pre register your interest on my Kickstarter page: bit.ly/3dKjmnz 👑👑👑
You all prolly dont give a damn but does anybody know a trick to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost the login password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Hector Kayden Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and Im trying it out atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I always thought NMM was beyond my skill level as a painter, but the way you described it, and then followed up with a step by step guide was terrific. I am excited to try this out on the next weapons I paint. Thanks for a great video!
As some people pointed out in the comment section: The color is Underbelly BLUE and not green, miss on my end! Have you ever painted NMM, what are your go to colors?
This has been by far one of the most helpful tutorials on nmm I’ve seen! I unfortunately lost my last job due to corona but will start a way better paying one in a few days, so Mr.Squidyboyeee get ready for a new patreon once my paycheck arrives! Thanks for everything !
Dear SQIDMAR of the wet palettes I've never seen a video where the empty space in my cranium didn't fill as much a nanite cell and since your diorama ideas has been enjoyable especially your jolly crew mates amazing painting make my son and myself believe theres still a mystery to be cracked and understood .So Congress forget that UFO/UAP/MTG👱♀️ bother (Americans do love their psycho Congress women with secret alphabet agencies and JFK Who did it ) that the mystery of painting and the human soul as bad paint days turn into terrible weekends while great painting days because magical. So saint SQUIDMAR of the wet palette thank you for being there !
I saw a lot of tutorials that never show how to do things step by step and this... this helps me a lot. I tottally change my style with your tutorials that the last mini doenst look like something i did Here in Argentina its really expensive to buy pro paintings for your minis and i have to use some acrylics and try to copy what you do and dayum, it looks nice Keep your amazing videos alive and teach us more about 40k please haha
Thanks man, this makes me so glad to hear! I've heard that before, that some paints are hard to come by in south america. Do amazon ship to argentina? Maybe you could find some Vallejo or something to order from there? There will always be 40k on the channel :D
This is one of the most insightful video tutorials I have seen in a long time. You always look at the awesome work of Masclan or Bohun but really seeing how you do it, is an eye opener! Tack så jette mycket till Sverige, synd att vi inte träffades när jag bodde i Uppsala! Har det så bra!
Hi Mr. Squidmar, amazing paint job, and so nice to hear a guy/person that´s really explaining what he´s doing in a clear and precise way. I got a lot out of your "teaching", and interesting thing about taking a shot and play around in Photoshop to see how you could get more of of the contract and colouring. Cheers man.
I've just tried this out, and I reckon it's helped me paint the best bladed weapon I've ever produced. Thanks so much, Squidmar! Although I do now have a mad urge to repaint ever weapon I've ever previously painted...
Ive been painting minis for over two decades now and never fancied trying nnm but that looks great and will definitely try it only thing is if i can pull it off i will have to go back and repaint a bunch of weapons
I think you can improve the look of the rust there by just directly stippling it on with a dedicated blush (made by taking an old bush and snipping off it’s tip, creating a flat, blunt tip) instead of doing it with blends. That also makes the resulting rust be slightly three dimensional, like the real deal.
Your videos help me alot with taking my painting to the next level. I'll be trying this out on my new army! Super thankful for your tutorials. The are super easy to follow and the outcome.is always amazing.
NMM is my next step as a painter. As a necron player I would love to see armor pieces painted NMM and learn how to place reflections on odd shaped armor on something like an immortal or warrior. Keep up the great content!
You know, what I'd really like to see from you is a video with you painting a FDM-printed miniature. I mean, SLA prints are really nice, but they have a near-perfect surface, so it's quite easy to paint them. FDM printed minis, on the other hand, are more difficult in that regard, layer lines and all. I'd like to see how you overcome this - if that is at all possible.
Great video! Can you do one on painting slime or slimy textures, not just fluorescent green, but black slime, purple slime. How to make it shiny as well would be good.
Nice! I´d also like to see some different ways to paint true metal metallics. And I didn´t quite realize before that this channel would be improved by more wigs and mustaches. Now I know.
That time when Squidmar became Rudi Voeller! :-D Great vid for someone like me who has had a 15 year absence from GW modelling, and is now considering taking it up again
No joke.....I watched the first 2 seconds of this video probably 6 times. I was like......"what did I just see?" lol. I like how you keep the intros interesting and fun!
Cool technique contrasting the cool tones of the blade edge with warm tones on the flat of the blade. I'm wondering what you could do to make the flat of the blade look more interesting on a figure that wouldn't let their weapon rust? Thanks for the video. Very informative as always.
If your blade uses cold tones (i.e the one in the video, that was mainly blue), you could always add some freehand gold filigree, with some red undertone. That way, you will still get the tone contrast (blue vs red-yellow). Otherwise, you can just keep the darkest part of the inside of the weapon closest to the bright edge that separates the edge from the central part of the weapon (you can see some examples of this if you look up "Nmm axe" in google). Hope this comment helps!
Nice work, simple, to the point, and perfect timing, just about to start some weapon painting today and needed some inspiration. Cheers from Australia 👍
I have a problem with metal in minis. It's either metalic paint that looks like paint with glitter or nmm that looks like paper. I still can't find the proper way. I often end up doing rusted or black steel with just black/rusty and gray drybrush. Most of my minis are orks and uruk-hai from lotr so it fits but still I need to do some DnD minis that need good weapons
Good try on rocking the abba look! I've never tried nmm but i might be just the thing i need for some power weapons that i just ain't happy with yet. Will have to try this. Tak!
Question: have you used metallic paints and nmm elements on a single mini or larger model? Would it look odd or take away to have metallics close to nmm? Im painting a mcfarlane space marine figure and want to make the larger insignia etc. Nmm but i have already used metallics to get a paint chip effect on the power armour what are your thoughts?
Love your videos, thank you. I have a suggestion - if your desk is neutral grey or brown, your camera will show the model and what you are painting much better. At the moment there is too much contrast, I think..?
Awesome technique, thanks very much for sharing your knowledge. Personally, I find the "dark side" of the sword to be a little too rusty. I'm not sure that the contrast between the two sides of the sword could ever be so stark.
What is the name of the slightly darker paint you use on the edge? I got the Underbelly blue from P3 as the brighter. Did you just mix some of the Underbelly blue with black for the darker tone? You mentioned a "dark seafoam" but I can't find that anywhere on amazon. (Admittedly, I may just have terrible amazon/google-Fu). Thanks!
Whats the modular system you use for organising your desk/workspace called? Would like a guided tour of your workarea at some point! Great vid as usual!
Loved the video! Can you show some more about non metallic painting? I was planning to try a space marine theme on some old Empire knights of order, testing none metallic painting to get feel for it. My goal is to apply it later on my eldar army (they dont have much chrome metallic so i hope to learn more about this) Super thanks for another great vid!
This was great, it has really inspired me to try out NMM blades! How would you go about applying this technique to something that has a much wider edge, like a Warhammer Ogre blade, which doesnt have a defined distinction between the blade edge and the flat sides of the weapon like the sword in the video?
Question seen a lot of people using NMM, on their miniature instead of TMM. My question is, do NMM do just as good on tabletop mini´s as TMM does? Or is NMM best suited for display miniatures.
I know I'm visiting this video from the future, but it would have been nice to see a greater variety of weapons featured, not just the sword. Some firearns, morning star, flair, dagger, staff, etc. etc. would have all been welcome to see.

@Hector Kayden It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy:D

@Trenton Rafael You are welcome =)
Nice. Not many painter would go to Photoshop and critizise their own work to teach ppl something. Kudos, good sir.

Very helpfull video. After trying failing stopping... repeat. I finally sort got this one figured out. Thanks
Man! Your channel is a goldmine of info and tips x a noob painter like me. Thank you sooo much!👌
As some people pointed out in the comment section: The color is Underbelly BLUE and not green, miss on my end!
Have you ever painted NMM, what are your go to colors?
Squidmar Miniatures i used the colors from the video from Angel giraldez about mephistons sword. Do you think they will work too with your tutorial?
@@Perchian you can probably do any colour :)

Brilliant observation on the blade vs flat parts .... never noticed that before it makes so much sense. Thank you for pointing it out =)
I've just tried this out, and I reckon it's helped me paint the best bladed weapon I've ever produced. Thanks so much, Squidmar! Although I do now have a mad urge to repaint ever weapon I've ever previously painted...

I'm glad I found this channel, I think your videos are some of the most well/clearly explained and helpful. I've been using them to improve a lot.
Awesome video and great to see you showing the photoshop as a helper 👍 loving the new hair do too lol
i thought the guy with the mustache was your friend but when you took it off it blew my mind!
its so helpful seeing someone paint nmm using wetblending. Its my largest technique used so its great to see it for this!
i wish i could subscribe more than once this channel is so good and has inspired me to start painting minis, keep up the good work
there's an absurd amount of great tips i haven't seen anywhere else in here for such a short video, excellent advice!
Thx mate :D glad you like it!

I dare you to make a whole video as Emile Ross. 10/10 video as always m8
For a moment, i thought we were getting a Bob Ross video.
Also, +1 on the dare

good guide! I'll try to see how it works on a blade with no flat side, like a dagger or spear point.
Great short video. It actually made me want to try nmm out. Cheers from Denmark you crazy swede :D

Hahaha, when ever I have the chance I'll take it 😂
try the sponge methode for the rust . just for fun
Where do you get those squeeze bottles of Citadel paints. I only ever see the paintpot variety.
Nice moustache ! Keep it up with ur videos, they are extremely good!
Nice tutorial! I always wondered how people got their weapons to come out like that. Thank you sharing, much appreciated!
Would love to see a TMM tutorial

great tips ! Thanks
Fun and educational, thanks a lot for this video!
Once you know how, it seems so easy! I love your videos, you explain and show things so well. +sub
I do not understand how you did that. It looks like magic. Is that underbelly blue some kind of magic paint?
Really looking forward to trying this
Show me what you got! :D
Thank you for the tutorial! I always like your videos!
that is amazing! I can't wait to try this tomorrow.
This was awesome! Thank you ♡
Hey squidmar who did you get the droper bottles with GW paints in them?
Good movie. I missed the part where the sword handle was colored😮
Great tutorial, could you tell me which citadel paints are good for shiny part? I am beginner and it's hard to find it out on my own.
Du er en inspirasjon! Amazing stuff!
Great video!
NMM Kinda freaks me out, so this was very helpful. Thanks!
Very Helpful

He says Dark Sea Blue which is a Vallejo model color (70898)! The only time auto generated English CC was helpful 😂😂
@@MetalDialga1998 Thank you!
Great video. I only hope this 70’s Matthew Mcconaughey character stays as a regular guest!

New subscriber! love the videos!
Thanks Matthew :D
Would a combination of deamonette hide and dark sea blue work out well instead of the underbelly grey?
why not :)
@@SquidmarMiniatures great gonna try it out! Am new to the concept of nmm so I don't know yet which colours go well haha
wahnsinn wie schnell du einen nmm effekt erzeugst. ich muss noch viel üben um dein Lvl zu erreichen^^
Hell yes, this is so helpful, thank you!
anyone know what song is playing when hes painting the first blade? 4:00-4:15! the beat is insane! love it
Now i've seen how quick and effective can be Photoshop on the minis paintings i'm sceptical about some GW masterpieces' awesomeness...

I think those blades are a bit different in design. Let me think of it a bit.
Awww Shoot now I gatta learn photo shop to learn to paint... lolol
Yeah i'm sorry, its a MUST to know photoshop to paint miniatures ;) haha
That 'stache bro!
wow thanks for the video :D
Does this technique work on all types of minis? Pewter and resin?
Sure 😊
Question seen a lot of people using NMM, on their miniature instead of TMM.
My question is, do NMM do just as good on tabletop mini´s as TMM does?
Or is NMM best suited for display miniatures.
For me it's more of a preferred way of painting. I've seen AMAZING NMM on tables and amazing TMM on photos. I think its all personal preferens :)
What would underbelly green be in terms of warhammer (citadel) paints?
Ulthuan Grey
