Bob Jenkins: His 2019 IMS Hall of Fame Induction Speech

- The racing community lost a legend on Aug. 9, 2021, with the passing of Bob Jenkins, after a valiant fight with cancer. Bob was an Indiana native but he traveled the world to cover motorsports as a television host and play-by-play announcer for the likes of ABC Sports, ESPN, NBC and its affiliated networks.
Bob should be known the most, however, for his incredible kindness towards all, his class and integrity, and his love for the racing community (his "family"). Bob was voted into the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame in early 2019, and this was his speech at the induction ceremony on May 23, 2019. His humility and sense of gratitude for the honor shine through. Enjoy.

Bob was such a great race announcer. I loved his commentary. He was down to earth too. Somehow I got his email address and he was so kind to receive emails from a fan and to comment back at me. May he rest in peace.
