No one expects it. But MOREOVER, priests have a HUGE interest in cleaning up in a hurry (and hence a lot of practice), and access to catacombs to ditch the bodies.
Impressive how even at the very historical hight of turbulent geopolitical affairs and political intrigues on the Italian Peninsula, the Pope was still attempting to walk a middle line between Christian ethics and pragmatic plotting.
only watched the show “The Midici” and can wholeheartedly say please watch and learn about them, their family, and influence not only in Florence, but the kingdoms of Europe. They still have a living heir supposedly. Loved learning about them and now they’re being featured on EH. Awesome!
Yes! More Italian history that isn't bout the Roman Empire or WW2. Nothing wrong with those two subjects obviously but I feel the former especially is overrepresented when it comes to Italian history so its nice that Extra History is covering more of the Renaissance and Early Modern era of Italian history!
Plot twist, I know about the Medici family, and not because I've played AC II. See, in France, there's an animated show that's been around since the 80's called "Once Upon a Time: Man" (Il était une fois: l'Homme) and there's an entire episode about Quattrocento (the 1400's in Italy), including the many, many, maaaaany conspiracies, assassinations, plots and whatnot surrounding the Medici, among others. Also Caterina was queen of France, so... we learn about her and her family in history class. A bit.
It's amazing how much power the de Medici held. And they held it for generations. Bankers to the Pope, financiers, a queen of France, patrons of the arts.
*sees thumbnail* OMG they’re doing a series on the Pazzi Conspiracy! Be still my Renaissance history-loving heart! ❤ (And also since Assassin’s Creed II is my favorite game in the entire series.)
It’s interesting that people were willing to be banking families or give loans when it was possible that the people you give loans will just kill you or make false accusations to arrest you or seize your wealth

This is awesome! I would love to see an episode on the Cadaver Synod: Where Pope Stephen VI put the corpse of his predecessor on trial. The corpse was dressed, propped up on a throne and a deacon was appointed to answer on the deceased pope's behalf.
Pope Six the fourth. You couldn’t make it up. Still I am hoping this continues into Lucrica Borgia’s wine and anthrax parties or the way the papacy was becoming a hereditary office at this point in time.

Ahhh one of the best games "It is a good life we lead Brother." "The best. May it never change." "And may it never change us-
Yes, I love how many Assassins Creed people are here.
Cue "Ezio's Family" playing and me crying.
It definitely changed them
You forgot to mention how Ezio saved Lorenzo and hunted down the Pazzi
This is only the first episode of the series. They will get there.
