  • Get ready for some Multiple Exposure and ICM Photography! We're adventuring in the mountains today, scouting for some fall color. Join us as we explore Scout Mountain just outside of Pocatello in Eastern Idaho. We find a few pockets of fall color beginning to emerge (this was filmed in late September), but we're also met with a few roadblocks (literally), so we head back down the mountain where I find the perfect opportunity to do a little fun experiment. Have you heard of Multiple Exposure and Intentional Camera Movement (ICM)? You probably have, but have you ever combined the two techniques into one image? That's right, we open up the creative floodgates in this Photo Adventure. I hope you enjoy!

Very cool effect!! I've done loads of ICM but I don't think I have ever combined ICM with multiple exposures. Going out tomorrow to give it a go!
Always enjoy watching your videos Misti!! Nice work!! :)

Your final ICM image is beautiful. I've seen a couple of other photographers having success with it. I have not yet gotten a really good ICM image, but at least something okay, though not print worthy. Also, my camera won't do in-camera multiple exposures. I have to stack them in an editor, but I'm okay with that. I think it's technique and subject choice...and some luck. Thanks for sharing this fun shoot.

Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it! You’re right, there is a bit of luck involved, and the subject is quite important too. I think the contrasting white bark against the dark evergreens worked in my favor here. It’s the mystery of what you get with this technique that makes it so exciting!

      @@lovethatshotadventures The mystery, I agree.
