Great video!. Brought back lots of good memories. Spent many a happy hour there in the 80s and 90s. Thanks for posting

Used to go there when I was about 18 got loads of 30mm shells and other bits - most In the sea now due to coastal erosion. Watched the A10's doing their runs will never forget the brrrrrrrrr lol

nice vid, always wondered what was at RAF Cowden, remember as a kid seeing the A10's flying doing strafe runs, was great to watch, thanks for sharing ☺ I also have that camelback, used it when deployed to Iraq in 2003, Gucci bit of kit

Declan Hartung Ford Thanks for watching. Not really much to see there really but thought I'd stop by as I was in the area.

The Camelbak Omega is still one of the best ones about today in the Camelbak range - I've found the newer ones fall apart quite quickly and the bladders are quite flimsy.

The bomb you thought was a artillery shell is in fact a 25lb no1mk1 which would have had a smoke flash tail nice vid by the way

I live close to RAF Cowden loved the place when it was active, how and where did you manage to get in for a look around I've always wanted to get in there

Thanks for watching and commenting Darren. To enter the site I rode down the old main entry road off the B1242, past Cowden Parva Farm and then onto the range.

UK HISTORY HUNTER was there no security on there anymore? I've noticed they have taken the RAF sign down at the main entrance, was that where you went down?

Yes that's the one. The blue sign is no longer there. There is no security on the site, however, the EOD still uses the site to destroy ordnance found along the coast near there.

UK HISTORY HUNTER cool will have to go for a look, I've seen them down the beach blowing up ordinance a few times, so did you park up close by then ride down?

I was out for a ride. Rode from Hull to Hornsea via the the old railway line then by road to Cowden.

Top Tip if you don`t know what it is.Don't Touch it. There is enough warning signs.
