    you need a spud rake. 3 or 4 tines about 6 inches long

    Kev people don't realize how much damage a beaver can make. The damage is upstream from the flooding. See you on your next vidja.

      @SkidderKev  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ya people seem to forget that. We got these ones before they did Any major damage.

    They sure are industrious creatures. Engineering marvels to put dams just wear they’re needed.

    Nice video Kev - hope the mosquitoes were not to bad and nice work. Cheers

      @SkidderKev  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Was lucky enough it wasn't to bad for bugs yet. If you did it now they would probably carry you away

    I'm still a fan of a chainsaw winch and grappling hook for beaver dams you can't get an excavator to. Have a great day.

    • @SkidderKev
      @SkidderKev  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya that would probably work pretty good. Have to look into one of them. Hope it's warming up for ya

      @@SkidderKev yeah, we are staying above freezing at night finally. Actually saw 68°F for a high twice last week. If you check those winches, look for a used one, the price of a new one can be scary. Good thing the beavers were gone, I've had those ornery things growl at me camping next to the river before.

    Kev get a 4-5 prong garden rake they are the bomb for ripping apart those things!

    • @SkidderKev
      @SkidderKev  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Might have to get one of those for the next ones we pull apart .

    I ❤ Beavers 🦫
    I have sure cleared plenty of flood gate fences just like this, in cattle pastures over the years. It is hard work and amazing how all the debris gets twisted and packed in! Thanks for videos!

    • @SkidderKev
      @SkidderKev  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya they are very creative. Crazy how they get rocks up in the dams too. Flood gates have to be a pain to clear

  • @loggerjohn01
    @loggerjohn01 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    We used to dig out a lot of dams growing up on the farm, they would flood the farmland, We would mostly do it by hand, but sometimes my dad would get a friend who worked for the township to bring home some dynamite. It's hard work for sure. Take care

    • @SkidderKev
      @SkidderKev  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya some dynamite would have made quick work of these!
